MYBAD= 13% off. Tobe, would you be willing to price match Bonner, maybe go to 15% AND free shipping? You could try NAMING the code SILVERBACKSREVENGE . I would lay down a fat order today!
Raven, I'm so glad you put this up. I get these all the time and was wondering how extensive this scam is. "I will like to know if you do tree service"--not I would like to know if you do tree service. I'm not sure where to report this because this is not a robocaller, but a phishing query it...
Rick, I like the question. It is a useful one too, in trying to figure out what a person's true competency is. We know that learning this work is not a merely academic enterprise: you don't just read a book. The ability to climb a tree, climb a tree and work in a tree, climb in a tree and rig it...
I think the GRCS is rated for 3/4" rigging lines. These would have a wll of around 2,000 lbs or so, right? You might run a sheathed dyneema to get it higher. I seem to recall Mr. Good telling me that he'd had the GRCS tested to breaking. If I recall correctly, it failed at like 44,000 lbs or so...
She admitted it to be a clerical error after having been shown the paperwork. All paid up. Happy customer no complaints.
I do think that there are cultures that have a very dim view of labor. India, for example, has/had a caste system which essentially puts physical work at the lower echelons...
I think there is an even broader class of games of which your particular 'farmer's daughter' game is an instance. We might call these quid pro quo games, and they have the following generic form. Customer suggests that there is an additional something that is in need of addressing if not...
Agreed, Hump. I guess the point is that the public is so thoroughly conditioned to getting this service for free or having it concealed so cleverly in the quote that it doesn't notice, that having to pay for this service would seem irrational. Why pay for this service when X,Y, Z down the road...
Just going to put this out there. When sales arborists are used--not owner/sales persons--but employee sales people, it would be an ideal occasion to submit an additional cost of estimate because of the additional expense of the sales person. There truly is another bundle of expenses. The free...
I seriously doubt that it is normal for arborist salespeople to be making $200k a year. You'd need to have a very large company with limitless customers somehow willing to pay that extra %10 premium on each bid. I just doubt its possible. I'm guessing that owner/salesman is the usual arrangement...
You're right about that, I wouldn't want to be subsidizing work with other work. Sounds like JT you might be new to sales? Maybe the boss is giving you this as a trial and see how you do, a beginner's curve. There's a lot that goes into articulating tree work to clients and learning that takes...
Seems like an okay deal since you are not living on sales alone, but also your other work. If you were working for 5% alone, I'd think that was too low for full time sales work. But it sounds like you are able to put in another hour or two a night after work for another hundred or two, not bad.
Would the sales commission be all you would get in terms of compensation or do you retain your current base pay (hourly rate) AND get the commission on top of that?
As you embark upon your journey of ownership over the means of production, I leave you only with these words of Karl Marx as a portent, a waypoint, a marker:
"Within the capitalist system all methods for raising the social productivity of labour are put into effect at the cost of the individual...
Levi, I don't know if I can go as far as BRT on this, but I think there is a core of common sense to the idea that a stable, wealthy family environment is the result of a family culture rich with virtues of restraint, love, reason, self sacrifice, commitment, work, longsuffering, patience...
If I recall correctly, the difference principle states that social inequalities are acceptable provided they are to the greatest benefit of the least advantaged group. In other words, inequality is fair provided that the least fortunate members of society can still benefit from the arrangement...
