Being from Memphis area for the last 22 years, I'll tell you that you better bring that mechanic. There's a lot of hustlers and crooks here. Lot of good people too, but hard to tell who's who sometimes. In general, don't expect great customer service or any outstanding technical knowledge. Just...
I was looking for BMG, but prices through the roof. My DW dealer bumped theirs up over $600 from when we talked last year. Ran across this one for about about a $1k less than BMG before tax and freight. Not normal, but it was a great find. Berlon said they worked with you at some point, maybe a...
I'll post an update after I've run them through their paces. But after I took that pic, I took them through a low muddy area, up a 25* incline, and pushed a tooth bucket through some soil and so far they work as good as the bar lugs, with less damage.
FYI, they are 250x72x45, so you'll lose...
Wow, good to know. My wife works PT at a farm training horses and the owner just gave me 20 used horse stall mats cut to 3 different sizes they were gonna pitch. They're fine for what I need.
It's been a while since I've been out here, hope everyone is well. I thought I'd post up some pics of the new machine. I finally gave up on Ditch Witch and the SK800 and all the price increases, delays, getting bumped by larger customers, etc, etc. Found this used down in AL and couldn't be...
Here's some numbers to think about - these are just roughed out numbers
1 hp = .745 kW
1 saw tank (guessing) = .5 hour continuous run time
1 saw tank = .3725 kW-hr per rated hp
Li-Ion batteries generally are .175 KW-hr per kg of battery weight (not including all the plastic and stuff)
So for...
But seriously, this could be the impetus for the manufacturers to force us over to battery saws by limiting gas saw production. Probably wouldn't hurt to go ahead and think about getting and battery powered setup for climbing.
I think @moss was very on point considering the real world aspects of the question. Because of the nature of the question, he probably did not want to give a simple "yes" answer. Think of this, if he answered "yes we weight the limb fully at times", and you interpret that as you can throw a rope...
Offer to prune out the hazard wood and pile it (or remove it). Be prepared to be asked to sign a liability waiver of some sort if necessary. If you want, look up old historic/family cemetery lots, meaning ones that are not under the care of a licensed cemetery company, there may be some...
Check your melting point for pure polyolefin cord. I read around 165* C, vs 265* C for polyester. Considering the use may be for natural crotch rigging, it could be a problem. Easy to glaze a even polyester rope over a crotch.
This is a good point made here. The discussion thus far has been on the force generated and whether it exceeds the safe working load of the rope. But, there is also the consideration of the max force relative to the rigging point strength. While using a larger rope may keep the max force at a...
Definitely gotta watch the concentration. I buy the concentrate and mix it. I usually mix it about 1:10 or less and don't soak for long periods. Never had it destroy anything thankfully.
I pulled up the owners manual and looked at the tensioner. Got the dial calipers out and did some measurements on screen with some math. IF the tensioner bolts are 1", then there's probably about 2.0" or 50.8 mm of total adjustment. Since the x45 Bobcat track has an extra 45 mm 72 mm link, then...
Uh okay. Yeah and they're you're best friend and would never replace you with a legal immigrant who would work for half you're wage. And they would never conspire with the government to bring in legal immigrants to replace you. And they would never send any factories overseas in order to cut...
I hate to break it to you, but I'm not a regretting type person. I will never look in the mirror and admit anything. I learned a long time ago to trust my instincts and education and if I do, I usually come out on top. I doubt I will ever regret anything, except letting my oldest girl drop out...
