    Assuming the depth was correct, is there some reason you know of that having a notch is a problem? I don't think it matters. As far as depth, just curious if you have tried one with a deeper depth to verify it won't work? I have the Oregon part here if you need some measurements.

    Since the home is still under warranty, I would pursue builder to have tree removed. It's got a pretty good lean so it may have had root problems long before construction started. Tearing down a previous home certainly didn't help things. Tree preservation specs or not, I think it's reasonable...

    Oh FYI. If you go to the Oregon, I'm not 100% sure if the old Stihl rim sprockets will mate up to the Oregon drum, if that's a concern.

    Have you looked at Oregon 100791X. These guys say it it is compatible. I have one sitting here that I had on a 271 at one time, but for $25 you could just get it new. I don't think having a notch is an issue for saw that don't use it...

    I heard the green solenoid got scrapped, and the white was the latest? I know that when the black ones wear out the plastic metering disc is allowing more fuel to pass than anticipated. The saw can compensate for the excess flow up until the solenoid ultimately reaches a mechanical limit. So...

    Yeah exactly. Some of this was not in book, I swear. But, I gave it my best common sense guess and it worked. They hit a LOT of risk assessment. Like stuff that was buried deep between the bold words. Still got 91%, but dude, I fought and clawed for every bit of it. I'm missing a fingernail.

    Maybe that's the experimental questions they throw in there. They did not jive with the straightforward nature of the book practice questions that's for sure. I still scored well, but damn it was scary for a bit.
