I understand that, that's why i mentioned lock stitching specifically, like the majority of the ppl here are trying to accomplish.
But as far as Round/Parameter or whatever it's correct term is.. this is what i get with doubled up 12.7mm & the needle chocked up a bit in the chuck...
Idk...
Idk man.. seems to work fine for me.. 1/2in.. 8mm.. whateve.. the length has never been an issue lock stitching... If anything it could be skinnier & shorter for my smaller Cordages.
"Adapter for the phone jacks"
What you mean by that? I know the picture your posted requires a phone.. but does the next one your referencing require a phone as well?
I want something, side from the Sena stuff, that works completely free of a cell phone.
I don't know why something as simple looking as this isn't available at a reasonable price point without all the fancy media & Bluetooth streaming BS.. just an open intercom that can have infinite units added on, all built into the muff itself with three simple buttons, volume, I/O & Channel.
I...
Im currently using this one.. I think it's a good middle of the road needle.. No need for modification, fits larger thread, etc.. However even though I've snapped a couple being abusive with them, i do wish it was a bit skinnier for second & third passes on smaller cordage's..

Yes.. right.. there IS a 8 & 10 Ocean Poly. It's very popular & is available everywhere.. so common it's even rebranded at certain places.
As far as the Vectran goes, I've personally never heard it referenced as 8mm nor have I seen it in 8mm.. Hence my original statement/question wondering if...
Chris.. the saddle is indeed a medium.. There's a tiny little tag on the leg pad.. hope that helps. It's definitely a comfortable, secure feeling saddle to hang in.
Not sure what size he has but i think Danimal is selling a newish, if not new, Onyx Saddle... If your not stuck on an Onyx, I'm pretty sure the Monkey Beaver is very very similar in design..
-edit.. yeah the ad is two below this one right now.. size 1 too. I'm pretty sure it's a good deal.
So you've seen what I'm talking about then? If it is indeed 8mm with a Aramid/Poly cover & a Vectran core, that Cordage should technically be, super super strong..
However, they're listing the breaking strengths & descriptions as if it's 8mm Ocean Poly.. hence another reason I'm wondering if...
Finally finished this thing i was mucking about with.. it's 4 passes for sure.. but first three rows weren't as precise & I have no clue why i didn't finish the last three stitches in line with the others...wtf..?
Gotta find me some better heat shrink.. idk what happened to it but this stuff...
Im not following you there bud...
What is, "in fact they are two different things"...
Are you saying Sherrill is "in fact" selling 8mm Ocean Vectran? & The 6mm I'm talking about or looking for doesn't exist anymore? Hence "two different things".
Idk.. whatever it was that I saw, was labeled...
Some more Pics..
Don't get distracted though.. my questions above still need answers..lol..
This is Omniprogears 8mm kernamntle & i definitely let the tails fly too close to the sun on this one.. just posting to post.. & possibly show how this different method of spacing isn't bulging the...
Don't sweat it.. I've already forgotten what exactly it is your sending.. is it a modified needle or something.. or certain desired size? I can't remember.
Ok so you pretty much just terminate like normal.. i just hate having to remove prior stitches in order to do so.. figured they're might be...
Oh that's pretty fancy Moss! Now that i think about it, I'm pretty sure I've seen that before somewhere, i should have known it was you getting fancy.
I was wondering about stitching the Tech Cord as i have a little 6mm DMM thimble i want to streamline with stitching as opposed to knots with...
Damn.. nice touch Deevo.. I'm not a big fan, at all, of how these things have to be intergrated/retro'd into helmets, etc.. But what you have going on there that looks pretty dang good. I'm not seeing the frail 28-30ga wires hanging out everywhere! Are the battery packs on those models self...
Parent sling is 10mm Beeline, Prusik - looks like RIT 8mm & both uncovered splices look as if they could possibly be hand sewn but its hard to tell with the fraying..Idk.. i could be wrong.. If not, that RIT was probably a bound loop with the shrink cut off to make it floatable.
The hardware is...
Woah.. my last post was long.. hopefully y'all got something out of that deconstruction.. I plan to do the other side, but with a much more patient approach.
As far as the needle size affecting the smaller Cordage.. within my set of pics you'll see i tried two different methods.. the more messy...
Hey.. has anyone noticed or had trouble using needles that fit larger threads like Tex-400 & then when you try to use a smaller thread the needle itself will hollow out the hole & make it harder to secure the lock of the stitch?
I finally got some smaller thread thinking it would help keep the...
