I appreciate the background info for context. I myself am of Irish descent(last name is Delaney) so there's a good bit of what you describe that resonates with me. I was speaking about your YouTube presence when referencing image. I would challenge your statement about there being no emotion...
No worries. It's a holiday weekend here in the states and we're doing some backyard camping here in Detroit. We've probably both got better things to do haha
I was not being sarcastic. As for needing to be told the problem in order to help, you're the one who has a problem with the way the BDB exists in the world, not me, so that is for you to express and potentially help address, or just act self-righteous about if that's what suits you. As for...
I have a great idea @Reg. Since you've made it clear that your input on the BDB is offered as help, why don't you borrow one from a Buzzer here and spend a couple hours using it and trying to find problems or ways to improve it? I bet Gordon may even send you one as a tester. If you spent as...
The idea that you "deserve" an answer in this context is problematic. You can ask a question and express a feeling if you don't get an answer you like, but you're not entitled to an answer.

As I said, for better or worse, although which side you see is colored by experience with this particular device or the absence of that. I'm assuming you climbed on your own device prior to it receiving any sort of certification. There is some amount of practical understanding of risk and...
One thing I can say is that Gordon's devices are constantly being refined and upgraded based purely on real world feedback over many years of use by many working arborists in different locations and with different climbing styles. For better or worse, he is not beholden to meeting certification...
I'm going to be listing a Unicender for sale shortly here, $200 shipped in the states. You could buy it, try it, and resell it if you don't like it at that price.
I think a good method, especially for the smaller chains, is to use the combo file for every other or every third sharpening. Just do a round file by hand in between because I agree that the combo takes off too much raker.
I'm interested in the SMC pulley, Courant throw cube, all the slings and biners, the wedges, the Notch chainsaw lanyard, and the Hoffman boots. PM me a total with shipping if you would and we'll go from there!
