I have learned more here than anywhere, when it comes to real life tree care. I've also learned so much about life here too. This is an amazing folks community, of which I'm lucky to have stumbled upon.
@Matais, we called it the "super swing" so many fun times. When I first stated climbing. My "calculated risks" weren't so calculated.
After I became a Dad, much more calculated, in fact, it was my motivation to be safe...
Kit will be on the way this afternoon/evening Brando.
Brando,
I have a ouistiti petzl harness I'll give you if you promise to share a photo with us... "whenever you are comfortable"
heck I'll give it to you if you just promise to give it a try...pm me....snail mail. Really good thread to make us all reflect a bit.
The scariest thing I read was... "I have gotten away with this before" Damnit man, me too. Just wonder how close a lot of us were to being in your situation. Such a scary thing to happen. Wish you a speedy recovery. Now for some levity...
worse thing to happen to me in a silver maple was this...
Hard sell... No Tree Work. Definitely not trying to throw a wrench, we all know, good help is hard to find these days. This may appeal to some, I'm just guessing the majority, on here, probably enjoy pruning, climbing, removals, etc.
Hope you get some bites, sincerely.
We have trouble with service technicians, maybe its regional? People seem hesitant to buy something no one can fix.
I'm no finance genius, far from it, all I know is my 401k is steadily declining, even though I am contributing as much as I can afford each paycheck. Everything is expensive and my...

Glad your not too bad, doesn't sound fun at all. Thanks for the story. Always disliked adding "links" to systems, but in this case....using "screamers" hopefully mitigated some of the bodily damage. Screamers,@Stumpsprouts , from what I looked up, are basically the fat part of a fall arrest...
Another "old school" photo. This was a cottonwood I did in my 20's, We couldn't get our shitty bucket to it so I got told to climb it. This was a crane removal. I was expecting a bucket day, it threw me off my game a little, but it worked out. Not only was I climbing mrs, Arborwear wasn't even...
neat. I have cleaned up some downed (storm damage) pears that were pretty old. Didn't get around to grinding it and yep, the suckers came on with a vengeance, now, I'll select the dominant one and nurture it. seems fruit trees are good at this, also some magnolias.
I'm with you @ATH.... I really am starting to believe the efficacy rate of EB is good for 3 years. Do still suffer from don't change if this 2yr plan is working.
