    2023 nifty lift sd64 4x4x4

This engine was 33hp, his will be ~25hp. Theoretically the same hill climbing ability, but the lesser hp will climb more slowly. 3.5 minutes in or so

    Software - client management question

Each named customer gets its own profile, the property may be listed under multiple names. If we needed to track the work we'd done at an address (PHC, for instance), I'd make a note to refer to the other customer profile.

    Refusing irresponsible tree work

Unless I'm missing some legality aspect, someone removing a tree on their property isn't irresponsible, it's their purview over their domain. A tree over a a house is assuredly a risk to the house, to say otherwise in a professional setting is interesting. Just last week we had a $15k...

    Want to buy comms!...

For jobsite coms we use Sena Mesh in helmets and headsets, maybe 12 sets in total. For longer range we use GMRS radios. They require a license but it’s just paperwork and money, no test, minimal hassle. Hand held and we’ll be adding them to the trucks and some equipment, mainly for...

    Business App for tree service

We've used Jobber for the last 11 years. It's not perfect, but grandfathered in at $39/month... it's hard to beat. I wish we could turn off scheduling. I wish internal request notes were by default only on the request instead of linked to everything forever. I wish there was an "in...

    working through poor air quality

If it’s unpleasant/distracting/a problem, we wouldn’t work and would wait for it to pass. Just like the heat, rain, etc.

    Adjustable Crane Slings.

Originally for knuckle boom work with reduced head height, 1/4” chain, 4300lb per leg. The 3/8” setup is good for 8800lb per.

    Adjustable Crane Slings.

The 63 year old was a solid second behind on this pick taking 7 seconds to remove it from the pick. I haven't looked at the other clips from this job, but I didn't see a pick that took longer than 10 seconds to unhook the sling from.

    Adjustable Crane Slings.

I have a Lariat. This was the first pick I found on my computer, from a job this past Monday.... from the time he reached the sling until it was loose was 6 seconds...

    Adjustable Crane Slings.

$3k for rope slings with prussik adjusters seems like I’m missing something. We do most of our tree picks with a single choker, sometimes two. Friday we used 3 for the first time in forever getting a broken top and a tree off a house.

Increases surface area for faster breakdown.

    Small Jobs

That is unfortunate… it’ll also be you if you don’t take care of yourself. A bid from yesterday, $700 minimum to clear the driveway leaving the debris adjacent on site. The bid took longer than doing the job would have took. Didn’t get the bid, but no one else had either as of our deadline...

    Shop, garage, parking, etc.

Here’s the dirt work mostly done, working on getting 20-30 loads of millings delivered, it’ll be crushed limestone under the slab and possibly on top of the millings.

    Shop, garage, parking, etc.

We have one bit of business to get handled then we're building a shop and covered parking for everything, the dirt work is mostly done. The recycling yard is the next hill over. All in we'll spend probably 3-6 months revenue between the land and building before it's all said and done.

    Small Jobs

After you factor in your bid time with travel, then you get back to the job to do work... $400 doesn't offer much profit.

    Small Jobs

We have minimums based on the area (higher for adjacent towns) that makes the process more simple. We have 30% lower minimums for in town work if the job can be done with a pickup/trailer/small machine by a groundie. That gives us some flexibility when bidding and removes the decision making...

What model battery powered saw are yall raving about?

For pruning, the T540 or 542’s chain speed will be nice. We have T540s and Milwaukee’s top handles for electric top handles. For light ground saw the 540 rear handle is great. For removals I’ll use the Milwaukee dual battery aloft, it’s easier to crank than a 500.

    Ground Protection Dimension ?

You’ll cause more displacement of soil running on the edges. Our larger excavator is 91” wide, we run it, the grapple truck, and crane on 2 mats wide, either 12 or 16’ overall width. That gets the weight in the middle of the mat for the best floatation.

Let’s talk about hook lift trucks

I don’t know that that’s an exclusive… my SL hoist has 53°, slightly better than the competitors’ ~50°, but largely an inconsequential difference.
