At TCI i were introduced by MarkP on the buzz here to a lovely husband & wife who are owners of a tree company. They told me only the day prior to TCI that their nephew died from a chainsaw cut to the leg while climbing. Their story touched me and put a tear in my eye. We read these...
I'm kinda selfishly hoping it doesn't re-run in 2 weeks because i won't be able to come back that soon! If it runs after winter I will be able to, but of course if things calm down enough over there and you can get it in then go for it.
Met a lot of buzzers old and new in the short time i were there, very cool to catch up with lots of you. Heaps i missed also as my stay turned out very short with 3 delayed flights getting there... Still worth every bit of it though!
Oh and thanks for lunch Tom!
Hi Wouter, we tag-teamed a bit as i couldn't be there all of the 1st day.
That footage from the ground is of the other climber, all helcam footage is me.
Took more than 1 days work! And i wore different gloves on the last day with the crane. I mixed up techniques where i felt it work best...
Hi guys,
Here is our latest vid.
Treegear TV | 65m Mountain Ash Removal
Job was to remove a multi leadered Victorian Mountain Ash of which 1 stem had already failed. Running the gear shop I don't get to climb as much as i'd like these days, so this was a good opportunity for me to get out...
Hey Taylor, is that the new, yet to be released XXXLarge Rigging Hub i can see in the background leaning up against the tree? I must say the anodizing is not up to the usual DMM standards....

We've been waiting for this one, I think alot of people have admired the shiny purple round thing without quite understanding what they can do with it....me included! Haha

Lovin it!
Lent out my original uni to someone waiting on a rock exotica recall inspection. Did some "product testing" today, which really means took down a big Mountain Ash no-one else wanted to climb!
Ascended & worked down a big spar today and it worked a treat. To go up on the one...
I use the kong futura, it's neat and compact.
I don't back it up with anything or even feel the need to connect it to me.
But my "chest" ascender is either a uni or ropewrench with hitch, so the ascender is really just a hand assist rather than a life support connection.
As Kevin B has...
