    Bucket truck rental?

Funny I had the same disease as you, but I went the climber route and mine struck at 62 lol. Dummy's first small piece ;-) Did the pine on the left a couple of months later.

    Corded chainsaw

As already stated there is only so much power available, about 2hp tops when you figure in voltage drop in even a fairly short extension cord. Plus batteries have come a long way, really hard to get a solid answer out of Milwaukee but some of the engineers have said over a hundred amps peak are...

    Rent Out Your Equipment?

Not an arborist but have a lot of saws and other power tools of every kind. Almost every tool I have ever lent was returned dirty and most with signs of mistreatment. If you are a rental outfit this is just the way of things and a cost of doing business, if you are an owner who takes care and...

One is none, two is one and three is WON?

And I thought doing piece work humping 2 sheets of drywall at a time up 10 flights of stairs was a hard way to make a buck!

    Milwaukee Superhawg M18 Fuel drill

Yeah I had the same results with both my Milwaukee and Dewalt impact drivers...anytime something is tight enough to come close to maxing out the tool the hex to 3/8ths adaptor takes a dump. Its actually kind of surprising that the 1/2 shank of the impact gun can stand the 1400 ft pds must be a...

    Milwaukee Superhawg M18 Fuel drill

Hey while we are on the 18v Fuel thread, any of you guys bought the 1400 ft lb removal torque 1/2" Fuel Impact yet? Just got one as the last time I had a flat on the pickup truck those stupid Ford lugs were so tight I twisted up a 4 way like a pretzel...finally had to use a torch to heat it...

One is none, two is one and three is WON?

As someone totally on the outside and with all due respect to those in the know, it seems when climbing from a high tip which is often hard to see that a second line shot over the last large branch (different from the primary tip) would be damn good to do at the very least until the primary tip...

Tapered Hinge: Diar(y)rhea of a thread gone wrong and left un-moderated

Faceplate the gears so you can snatch gears mid pull with no interruption ;-) All joking aside I love the idea of rescuing an old piece of equipment.

Tapered Hinge: Diar(y)rhea of a thread gone wrong and left un-moderated

Not sure if you were talking about utilities but all joking aside, it was between two adjacent houses on a small hill about 8ft above street and house level so there were no worries on the pull.

Tapered Hinge: Diar(y)rhea of a thread gone wrong and left un-moderated

Thanks to Evo and Flyingsquirrel25 for additional information on wedge usage. Rico, as a past auto mechanic and fabricator the use of bottle jacks on trees has always fascinated me. I have watched vids of trees being jacked over but never knew some of the jacks incorporated gauges, must provide...

Tapered Hinge: Diar(y)rhea of a thread gone wrong and left un-moderated

Daniel, serious question on the locust. In a situation like this where you have ropes pulling a heavy tree leaning that far over and you start the backcut and drive wedges, what is the reason for wedges at this point...is it to lessen the side load on the fibers to prevent their possible...

question from friend about being electrocuted

Electrocution short of death is well documented to cause psychological issues (depression and PTSD) in those previously symptom free....also in cases involving high voltage cataracts are likely in the years after the injury. While I doubt radiation poisoning( that's a whole different issue) the...

    Training Callus with Mesh

Seems really interesting....not to hard to envision it speeding wound covering. How about stainless? Although more expensive than regular steel its less than $5 per sq ft. On the other hand maybe a rough surface imparts a quicker integration, I know this is true in bone implants.
