    Battery Saw Onsite Charging

If any of the saw manufacturers read this post here is an idea. Make portable chargers that can either be hard wired into the work truck or clipped to the battery terminals of a truck/car. Almost any modern vehicle has an 85 amp plus alternator, so with 1000+ watts available quick charging...

I've never been a fan of new standards but.......

Love to see a picture of the cut rope......not that it would serve any purpose, just would love to see it.

Trumptard Says, But Cheetohead did not even accept the 200k a year salary for being president (a true Uhmarkn Hero!) Someone with an IQ above 85 realizes, That Cheetohead did lower the top corporate tax rate (the one most of his ASS ets are in) by 14%. So he is estimated to be worth 3...

Great point by Something Witty, could be a muffler melting a cover or something else cooking? I have never worked on one of those saws so I am not sure about the case configuration, so it may not be possible but I wonder if the saw is leaking bar oil into the crankcase? I think I remember...

I would also wonder how it would wear over time as the rope would always be riding on the Brummel.

    Lithium powered saws?

The post of mine (which I assume you were replying to?) stated that Tesla's motor's are not run on DC voltage which as far as I know all chain saws are. Instead they take DC power and convert it to AC power for the electric motor. The number of poles in an AC motor is not a more is better deal...

    Lithium powered saws?

A friend of mine races an 840 cubic inch Outlaw 10.5 drag car. On these cars they spend thousands of dollar on a set of titanium wheel nuts to shed a 1/2 pound. The rules require that they be self starting (funny cars and dragsters use remote starters) so about 5 years ago he hooked up with a...

    Lithium powered saws?

Tesla's high end cars use a 4 pole 3 phase A/C induction motor, not single phase DC motor. The cheaper model 3 uses permanent magnet motor but it is also of a 3 phase (AC) design.

    Lithium powered saws?

In regard to balance and power, as said earlier for a top handle a belt carrying the cells would IMHO be the way to go. The belt would only be about an inch thick, the voltage could easily be 120v which would allow a much greater power density motor to be used on the saw. You need a leash for...

    Lithium powered saws?

My post was about the electric motors used in the Tesla not the battery cells used for storage.

    Lithium powered saws?

Yeah I agree, I know tesla's system is far more efficient than a standard brushless inductive DC motor. Maybe Elon will jump in the game

    Lithium powered saws?

The power density of the batteries is not quite their yet, that said its not too far off for a top handle deal. The new 12 AH 18 volt Milwaukee Fuel batteries will provide 2hp (which when you consider the torque of an electric should allow it to compete with most top handles) for 8 minutes. That...

Hopefully it did not toast itself due to being lean...but this is a good possibility. Since it came from a pawn shop there is a good chance its had fuel break down in the carb restricting the passages...then with the muffler mod that made it that much leaner....? On the other hand it may just...

Hey all, took a couple of rotten trees down for a neighbor. Was scared to climb and cut due to my age (63) and trees condition (dead tops) so I dropped them between two sections of fence. All worked out well (even a broken clock is right twice a day) and was able to remove branch's one at a...

Agree with the last reply, guy probably was operating with shit information, is likely young and new to the business etc. So if you simply text him from another number and explain the reality of the discussion between you and the homeowner (garter snake) it will serve to both resolve the...
