time to upgrade my spurs, Keep my Buckinghamn get new pads, or buy Gecko?

Been using the old steel Buckingham with Velcro for the past 16 years. My options now is either get the big buck Velcro and keep the old iron (maybe get a pair of pole spikes), Or get the Gecko alum. For those who wear the Gecko all day on big removals, are they really comfortable? Thx for the...

those of you using remote controlled stump grinder, read this. Thx

Hi, all. As I start enjoying my remote controlled SC60TX, I realized I alsolutely need a chair or stool that can be attached to my butt. I'm not a lazy guy by nature, just after a day of climbing, having to stand on my feed watching the grinder sweeping is not fun. what do u guys have?

ready to buy the vermeer ctx-100 this year. which grapple, vermeer or BMG?

Got the new manual BMG grapple and that HUGE mulch bucket, 1 yard. Already used it, of course I liked it a lot. There is just nothing like it. Guess the hitch thing is kind of nice. Just couldn’t figure out why Dave used a round instead of square tube for the hitch. There must be a reason I guess.

what do u do about dripping sweat from top of your head in summer? gethering ideas

Well, This is how I survived my past 95F, 90% humidity st. louis summer days. I go through lots of bandana from Walmart. I have to stop and squeeze out the sweat every 15 min to half hour, easily 5 oz of it. That method worked fine with wired safety glasses. But now I upgraded to the new KASK...

    Needing new boots soon.

I use the good Velcro pads on the old steel buckingham. The pads used to be $100 over 10 years ago, now I see they are $150 a pair. Don’t know if they improved or not. If I work on spikes all day it feels fine. If I wear them on short boots my legs are very uncomfortable and I don’t think I can...

    Needing new boots soon.

La Sportiva, sounds cool. I’ll look into it. Rico, and everyone else who has experience with both high (16-18) and lower boots for spurs, please elaborate why my lower legs can be comfortable doing removal all day. Thx

    Needing new boots soon.

Thx all for sharing ur experiences. I’ll see what I’ll get this time. I have to have gortex waterproof. Have to be able to hose them off when muddy. It must breath better without. However, I have no problem with waterproof 18” lineman boots. All my sweat goes out on top of my head.

    Needing new boots soon.

my trusted Danners Powerline high boots (18") costed $500 and lasted me over 8 years of abuse. Nothing broken, just worn out. Leaned that they discontinued it long time ago, very sad. Looking for a new pair. Saw some Carolina high lineman's boots for just over 200 buck. wondering if they are any...

Now I added my own remote control to it and it went from hate to love! ps. was in a pinch yesterday for two 3 feet hydraulic hoses...

ready to buy the vermeer ctx-100 this year. which grapple, vermeer or BMG?

Thanks all for the wonderful discussion! If it were not for u guys I'd easily made a wrong move and never know what I'm missing. Called Dave today and ordered the BMG grapple along with his 48", 27 cu ft (a full yard!) mulch bucket. happily ever after. Erwin
