Personally I prefer hitch based systems as well, but have to say Petzl ZZ works very well and reliable in the rain. Best of the actual devices IMO.

Got a price update from Skylotec as well, its 6500€ without VAT now.
Still so much cheaper then any battery powered Actsafe ascender before...

You guys mean single line strength in a straight pull test (= quite irrelevant) or choked around a limb/structure already? There should be a lot of testing have been out there these days, right?
You could make something like this in this case, imagine a series of half (or marlin) hitches. Though you have to make sure they dont slip down all together because they might not hold themselves in place magically as the picture suggests...
