Small UltraSling spliced out of Samson ICE TAIL cordage. Very light weight, quite strong.

Yeah, and the poly is so much cheaper... we need a new fiber that is lightweight and not bulky... and that doesn't need to be pulled out of a spider's ass!

It is much lower. And it gets lower and lower as they age. Much faster than poly.

I had one out of TVP and it served me well until I broke it at like 30% mbs on the bench. Ultraslings are for poly cords unfortunately.
@JeffGu did you ever get one of these tested?
Nick I would be very very eager to hear any&everything you could share on this, gotta say it's blowing my mind to hear that using Ice Tail that way would be less than its regular ABS, would love to hear more figures and more importantly any thoughts on mechanisms as to why, I mean if anything I'd think that relative fibers' performance when in a soft-rig(ultrasling) configuration would be based on how well they handled rope-on-rope (since that's "the bite" in such slings), but so far as I knew we could basically infer that from melting points, so with Ice Tail being so heat resistant (aramid/poly mix), am really left confused!
Thanks a ton for ANYTHING on this, just got 30' more of Ice Tail since I've basically worn-out all the hitches I made with my last batch, I'd been thinking this cordage was the bee's-knees, til I read your posts here!!
(@Jeff--- very ingenious lil sling there, honestly I just made my 1st Ultra [double head/boomsling] the other day but after seeing your pic here I immediately said "I'm making one!" until I read Nick's comments (which now have me even worried about using it as a friction hitch, I mean I'm looking at where the load/force points are and if it's no-good for Ultra's then most of that reasoning should apply to using it as a prussik....)
