Let’s talk about hook lift trucks

Saw this news story today...reminded me of this thread. So, not to distract from the topic at hand, and I know it was a rolloff, not a hook truck...but here it is:

Summary: I-75 closed for a couple days after truck forgot to put down the rolloff mechanism and hit overpass:

Ouch!

I saw a local landscaper truck driving through town with the dump body raised up to at least 45 degrees. I can’t imagine that was intentional, but doesn’t seem cool in any way, shape or form.

That’s new I guess? Are you looking for something Class7?
That was for a new rig!
I’m more of a Preemmsions old school cool ride myself ! Had no idea what new even went for so I decided to find out cause the older trucks are becoming fewer and farrer
( word not real word)
in between
I’d like something heavy duty class 7 maybe 6 if it’s priced accordingly! Right now I’m in no position to buy either or! Couple big payments all done this year, but that’s why I’m starting my homework now !! Wanna be ready when I’m ready ya know what I mean! I’m looking for some dates to go check out that guy with the amolirolls!

I want a hook truck like something fierce. Right now I’ve been using a poor man’s hook lift …. ie dump trailer ….lol
In the meantime, you might consider a rolloff trailer. I owned a Nedland Industries 14,000 lbs rolloff trailer for a few years. Pulled with a f450 and the gooseneck made it pretty versatile. Like a hooklift container, you can't beat loading wood at ground level

I have a couple dump trailer treat like a bin or can, sometimes, I’ll drop one empty for wood, comeback with the other and the equipment. I love how low profile dump trailers are and I know a roll off trailer would be lower and sweet feature, but I’m looking to get away from trailers as much as possible. Shit I’d love to get out of debris hauling all together !! Haa
