I love this land, which I would expect folks on both sides agree with. I want to protect it from increased pollution and degradation while making strides alongside other nations to slow/reverse our society’s impact. The second statement is where the disconnect between fact and delusion/apathy begins.

First go round people wrote off his stupidity and other behaviour but this time round he's really stirring up some deep resentment. Anger is often the first thing out of the mouths of people I encounter. It's got to leave lasting damage. People remember.

Local officials had to talk the Army Corps of Engineers down after it abruptly alerted them Thursday afternoon it was about to increase flows from two reservoirs to maximum capacity — a move the agency said was in response to Trump directing the federal government to “maximize” water supplies.
Before the Corps ratcheted down its plan, local authorities scrambled to move equipment and warn farms about possible flooding, said Victor Hernandez, who oversees water management on one of the rivers, the Kaweah in Tulare County. He said the Corps gave him one hour notice on Thursday.
“I’ve been here 25 years, and I’ve never been given notice that quick,” Hernandez said. “That was alarming and scary.”

It's like I have no water to wash the pans in the sink because someone is taking a bath and someone else is taking a shower and the lawn sprinklers are going and my washing machine is doing a load and my wife is watering the flowers and the dishwasher is running. But Trump says you have a tank full of water in your toilet so I'm going to order it flushed and then you'll have water to wash your pots and pans.

The feds do have some control over our water here, and with the help of the Army Core Donny officially fucked us for the very dry months ahead. Its a shame that no one told Donald that it was impossible for the water he wasted to make it to LA. A political stunt that will cost people lives when fires inevitably break out, and cost farmers their livelihoods when they can no longer water their crops. Clueless and dishonest is a deadly combination.

It's ridiculous to the max. I would have thought that republican doug lamalfa would have got in his ear about it already, as he is a major rice farmer and has complained for over a decade that we don't get to keep enough up north here. I wonder what lamalfa thinks about having endorsed that fool now.

Yup and any available water will quickly be consumed by poor management of the rich farmers, vineyards, and bottled up for export.

Sir orange pants should just blow the Hoover damn, never mind Lake Tulare…. I’ve heard stories from the Tachi Yocuts sounded like paradise once upon a time.
