5 Straight days of bucket work scheduled this week. Not so long ago I'd convinced myself they weren't very useful in my area....

Looks pretty useful to me. If that is your truck you are going to find it goes into a lot of places you thought it couldn't and makes the jobs move a lot faster. When I bought my lift and got out of the tree I had to adjust our rates do to how fast we got it done.

Meaning increased the hourly rate. Then when I bought our 75 foot truck I had to do that again.

Mats can get you almost anywhere. The more you use it the more you will wonder why you ever climbed up a dead tree.

Some jobs around here are basically logging next to houses. Took down five 24-30" pines for a customer today with no clean up. Had to pull a couple hard against side lean and branch weight. Hopefully they'll all make it to the mill, as long as he can coordinate getting them hauled out of there.

Pruning Elms today here in Detroit, including a massive street tree Elm that had huge sections of root flare ground away to replace the sidewalk. So short-sighted it is almost criminal. Here's me getting tipsy on the smaller Elm of the day.

I was practicing low and slow with a new hitch combo that I am trying out and tuning in and got in the same position about 3.5 feet off the ground after taking a big swing. I couldn't get myself upright and I couldn't reach my hitch. I was stuck good until a nice passerby came to my aid. I showed him the hitch and asked him to just push down on it. Nothing hurt but my pride.

I wouldn't miss it for the world, but I'm young and dumb. I have only removed vines (ivy and wysteria) from keepers though, so I can't really wrap my head trying to rig down big pieces with the ivy still on it. Can I trouble you for a brief description?

Cut it out of the way carefully as you progress! Your lanyand and climb line are always near danger even if you set a line above your better off, but can’t inspect as well what your working off tied into without somewhat removing it and you’d hate to find a defect after the fact rigging off it! When your at the rigging wood part you’ve already spent an hour or more extra just cleaning of the excess in a little tree like the picture.
