Covid Close To You

320,000 today. I'm going by 20,000 now to reduce the posts. There's a new strain floating around since September, now confirmed in the U.K. that's 70% more transmissible. Apparently the first strain in China wasn't as transmissible as the variant that came over in the early days from Europe, so this is the 3rd variation.

Up here in Ontario we're in the crapper and going into lockdown everywhere. Sobering.

Mask up, do the right stuff and stay on the good side of healthy. Best as you can, Merry Christmas.
Looks like this will be the deadliest year in US history. A 15% jump in deaths over last year and the biggest annual increase since 1918.

Every park or city hall or school, in every city and town across this country, has a memorial plaque or flag pole or playground dedicated to the locals who lost their lives in the wars of the past century. Probably less than a hundred-thousand lives per year, but somehow the 300k lost this year were "going to die anyway" because they were old, fat, or sick, and that shouldn't keep me from doing things like....you know...going to my boyfriend's jet ski competition.

Well our Thanksgiving party was apparently a hot spot
my wife got it also (got tested)
1 day she felt like she had a bad case of the flu 4 days common cold 2 days lost smell and taste
5 days later me and my daughter got bad flue symptoms
Called to get tested and the hospital said don’t bother coming in and assume you’re positive?
A bit strange but
So I felt bad for 6-7 days
Daughter felt better later that day
Seems to me like it’s mutated from the beginning
If my wife didn’t loose taste and smell I might of called it lies
But bottom line very thankful fo my family to get through what many hasn’t
So we had 12 days of work and I had to quarantine for 10
I wouldn’t leave my truck I had my sena so I could communicate with the crew
Foreman communicated with homeowners and property managers
Keys were locked in the shop and I had absolutely no contact with anything they did

very challenging
But now 14 days from my last day of quarantine I have not infected no one
I’ve kept quiet because of how judgmental the world is but I think distancing works

thought I would share my experiences with COVID-19

Bluetooth via the truck, that’s kind of amazing and made my day. Glad you and your family have recovered.

(ignoring trolls)

I just got offered the Pfizer vaccine today from work and I'm scheduled to get the 1st of 2 shots this Sunday morning. I'll let those of you interested in getting it know if I have any issues other than the expected soreness and mild fever/flu-like symptoms that Indicate it is working.

The population is still going up at a rapid rate. A "deadly pandemic" would have it going the opposite direction.
So according to you car accidents, drug overdoses, cancer, heart disease, Ebola, gun violence, genocide, and/or war would not classified as "deadly"...

A pretty fucking absurd stance bro.....

Please do.. I hear some cannot get it due to possible allergic reactions to it.. sounds like it’s not one size fits all

Nice strawman, but I'll address it anyways. If any of these caused a death rate that exceeded the birth rate we would address them as a much more serious problem. Yet we still drive cars, do drugs, consume things that we know cause cancer and heart disease, own guns, etc. War and genocide are caused by governments, yet we still vote for idiots to "lead" us into these things. A new strain of the flu comes along, where most people have to be tested to even know they have it, and suddenly our overlords brilliant reaction is to lock everyone down in an attempt to grind the economy to a halt. While US billionaires increased their wealth to the tune of $1,000,000,000,000.00+ dollars during 2020, average joe has lost or is losing his shit. Seems legit, for a virus that kills far less than 1% of people infected. Something sinister is afoot, if you can't see that, you're being willfully ignorant of it. Time will tell.

Strawman? Fucking please....You claimed that anything that doesn't kill at a rate equal to/quicker than population growth should not be deemed "dangerous"...As I said, a fucking absurd statement...

I never stated that. You read that into it, likely because you felt your narrative being attacked. Birthrate is currently exceeding death rate by an obviously large margin is the only claim I made prior to your strawman.

Tough to run from your own words buddy...Somehow a virus that is gonna kill 400,000 Americans in a calender year is not deadly? Fucking absurd....

Sorry, you are correct. I skipped past that quote while looking for the original. Scroll down this page https://www.worldometers.info/ and let me know how 400,000 deaths, that may or may not have been caused by Covid, (as everything is labeled a Covid death at this point), is a" deadly pandemic" and we should shut everything down. Fucking absurd is right.
