It not for lack of trying. I.been stepping in and out of harnesses looking for positives. They all come up.lacking. ALL. It is my climbing style. A TM fits my physique like a glove and molds to it as time passes. I am a rope swinger. I spend most of my air time far away from my TIP through numerous redirects and lots in suspension. Those lower Ds and range of motion while still be in total comfort is KING for me.

I can buy a new TM tomorrow and set it up in 10mins and be climbing in comfort. Have adjustments measured to a T. I just bought a brand new EVO for 450. It sits in my basement. My 3 year old Reg TM is mollded. A few climbs on EVO all cool but no wow as I would never use a second bridge configuration. Have a 6 year old in good working order there too. Fucking saddles are the fucking bomb.

I agree, the lower Ds on the TM are the greatest and most comfortable improvement to positioning saddles since the floating D, at least in my humble opinion. I love them, and I love my TM dearly. I honestly do. I’ve no immediate plans to replace it anytime soon.
BUT!
This saddle isn’t exactly what you get, it’s whatever you make it into. It’s some hardware and a couple knots away from having the same Ds as the TM or rigging plates with 3 or 4 fuckin bridges, what the hell make them all adjustable, or delta links, quickies, or F8s or those cool Totem do-dads Rock Exotica makes or soft Ds made from cordage or from soft shackles or swivel hip Ds AND swivel lower Ds ( @Acerxharlowii ) or someone can build it with heat resistant or maybe a chemical resistant cordage if there was a need for pruning at the meth shack, attach that chrome codpiece you already got, my woman can add some rated bungee cord for when she’s feeling bloated or wants to eat a whole large pizza again while tree camping, make it from 12 strand, 16, 24, 32 whatever, build it with Tenex or 3 strand and have splices at every termination.
You could probably use webbing and sew it or use water knots or beer knots and change the cordage color daily to match your purse or biweekly to match your drawers. Make a fashion statement

I don’t own the original or the new one but by all appearances, the sky is the limit. Call me out if I’m wrong, I can take it, and wrong ideas regarding life support gear should be addressed. The fit of the TM is very customizable, but the components are pretty permanent unless you take a knife to it.
Some of my enthusiasm should be chalked up to being mad at myself for missing it the first time around and now seeing a possible second chance at one that doesn’t already smell like Rico’s crack sweat.

My dudes, I'm way more excited about this than I should be. Love the MCRS and I'm stoked about it coming back (and better than before).
I don't need a new one, the original isn't showing any wear, but I'll probably buy one anyway. If pads only are offered, it's a no brainer.

Just a sec, perfecting my reverse and run maneuver, I may need it. I’ve mod’d my boots with golf spikes so I’ll be able to stomp through any Rico’s Personal Area 51 (RPA-51) Banana Slug Defense System Mobilization (BSDSM) not to be confused with BDSM that’s more JeffGu’s area of expertise.
I’m also working on a negotiating team but ever since we had cannabis legalization in Mass. I can’t get these people to stay focused on anything for more than 10 seconds so it looks like no go, it will be full out war as previously planned.

Nothing comes to mind. The OG MCRS is a supremely comfortable saddle which holds up to hours aloft with a saw hanging of me better than any other saddle I have ever experienced.
Nice reference to our beloved banana slug.. Been raining here for over a week and those little fuckers are everywhere. When I was younger I did a lot of logging in the Santa Cruz Mountains. UCSC (Santa Cruz) uses the banana slug as their mascot, so we referred to banana slugs as students every time we stepped on one. Oops, there goes another student!!!

First time I entered forest in California I was driving over the coast range from Redwood City headed to a small town on the coast/Rt 1 south of San Fran. Road was narrow/winding typical over the hills kind of ride. There were trucks carrying big loads of logs coming from the opposite direction and it was a bit tight. At some point there was a widening and enough to pull over. I jumped out, climbed over a guardrail and went into the woods on a steep slope. I ended up skiing on my feet a bit and took an easy roll. When I looked up after meeting the ground there was a banana slug in front of my face. I'm pretty sure it said “Welcome to California”.

El Granada, just upslope of Half Moon Bay/Pilar Pt. I’ve got family in that area. I’ve explored around there quite a bit over a few years and made my first redwood climb (solo) up one of the creeks south of there. Second growth but decent tree.
Trying to keep on topic ;-) yeah, the climb wasn’t on a TM S Light or MCRS (didn’t exist yet).

Honestly, not a lot. It's my favorite saddle for a reason, afterall. Not only can I rebuild it less expensively than other saddles, it's an adjustable enough system to make it very comfortable to me. It's tough as nails. Rides higher than the treemo, which I like. Not hard to get in and out of. The following is just put out there because I'd like to see it.
1st: It looks like he has already put in some gusseted slits for transporter/shembiner do dad's, which would have been my first go to answer. I just got some key stock so I can fabricate a shembineresqe hook for my saw that will screw together over the cordage instead of having to carve up the leather.
2nd: some sort of change with the lower d's. The only thing the treemo has on the rope saddle are those big prominent lower d's. I know, I know, I can buy anything I want to go there but this ties in to.....
3rd: The third thing would be for some manufacturer to start making an adjustable bridge option better than what's available. I'm running the petzl right now and I like it other than their little bitty open rings that has to be used with the system. They work great for the bridge's sake, but they kind of suck as lower d's. If I could get the adjustable bridge function along with bigger d's that stand out a little better than rings, I'd stop looking for saddle innovation altogether.
Pretty much the same things Matt is doing. Anchor the back ring, tighten the channels that guide the ropes, allow for all tools and attachments to be on the back pad itself and not hanging off the ropes.
I think the original materials used for the back and legs is perfect! I would not change that. The supple leather inner padding combined with the thicker belting outside pad just flat works
