The latest Matt Cornell harness

If you look closely at Matt's new saddle his side dees are completely in front of the back pad and the webbing, which is different than the side dee location on the original MCRS,. Being a tinkerer I fucked around awhile back and set one of my saddles up just like Matt has his in the new vid. One of the virtues of Matts design. Set it up like YOU like It. Not how some pinhead designer, whom may or may not have spent hours in a saddle with a big saw hanging of of him, likes it.

@rico's secret Area 51 bunker is deep in the forests and mountain trails of Upper Canuckifornia. There are no maps. GPS doesn't work, up there. There's no cellular service, running water, or flushable toilets. There are bears, skunks and Sasquatch all over the place. It reeks of goat urine. The women wear flannel shirts and logging boots, and it's rumored that Jimmy Hoffa's remains are buried under rico's porch.

I wouldn't risk storming the place. He has an APTA that shoots Kong Dongs and tacos.

I bet the release will drag out like the akimbo did. Great work Matt and I can't wait.

We're trained to expect the worst on new product releases. For the MC saddle it's about design (looks to be 99% there), machine sewing and other construction details, and sourcing existing rated hardware and cordage. Plus it's driven by a man on a mission. What could go wrong? There's strong probability it will go great.

I miss my grommet belt on my Traverse, so easy on and off and never an issue with sliding down. At some point I guess high end saddle manufacturers decided that needed to go?
Looks like it should last a lifetime, stuff that wears get replaced. The leather probably forms to the wearer’s body as it breaks in, like new leather boots do.
Possible it might not be super comfortable in the first 5 minutes of use, but that can change as it breaks in.
Looks dead simple to customize too.

Might just be the last saddle I’d ever have to buy even if I climb for another 40 years.

I had the pleasure of a conversation with Matt at expo.. In regards to this new ride hes working on you can tell the vision and passion he has is outstanding.. I climb in the og version everyday and I love it.. other than my bridge replacements it's no worse for wear than when I bought it.. the pads are awesome I've done a few tucks and tricks to keep it from getting sloppy round the leg pads, looks like hes addressed that issue and more.. Go Matt Go!

Who's in to storm Rico's personal Area 51? The team is going to be similar to MC's Dirty Dozen only we'll be the Dopey Desperado Dozen with No Hope. We don't actually know where the bunker is so it will take years to resolve this project to failure. On second thought, I'll wait for the official MC saddle release.

I’m your number 2. Or just a infiltrator on Rico’s payroll. You decide

Being a tinkerer I fucked around awhile back and set one of my saddles up just like Matt has his in the new vid. Did not dig it that way so I went back to the original setup. On thought and logistical nightmare, is that it would be super fucken rad if he or someone made 3-6 different designs which are all interchangeable. You could just buy the back pad from option a, suspension from option d, leg loops from c, and then customize to suit from there.

Personally I was turned off by the construction of the back pad and leg loops from V1. V2 suits my taste much betta, but it looks like it could use a little refinement to get it where I’d like to see it.

A few years ago I played around with a short hank and made my own ride. The hang up was the buckle, I may do it again using parts from my retired TM

I will feast on the livers of any who come for my MCRS's..

This is heating up! Looking over my last annual checkup test results, hmmm... liver is reasonably good, check. Dopey Dozen team enlistment, Evo in, check, JeffGu, maybe, check, Kong Dong resistant flak jackets, check. Ok, heading out to shovel snow and climb a tree.

I should start a separate "Extract Rico's Spare MCRS by Force" thread but I'll leave you with this, just so you know what extraordinary skills we're talking about, this is my bud Conor and I dealing with a volatile situation. Conor will be on the Dopey Dozen team as well, nothing can stop us.

Clearly, a professional... captured the ferocious killer without sustaining any injuries or getting covered in cat goober. However, @rico slobbers more and has his APTA with a huge stockpile of Kong Dongs, tacos and possibly even some fish burritos. Not an easy target. We'll have to take the cat with us. Canuckifornians have a reputation or chasing pus... er... cats for long distances. We might be able to lure him out, though, if the cat smells like tuna.

I had the privilege to talk with Matt hang out in his saddle Friday at Endors. We had a decent conversation about a lot of things including the saddle. I found the leather to be much more supple than the MCRS. Also he had it dialed in for him and he pointed out ways to adjust it better for my build. He might have hinted that the leather parts might be available individually. Don’t expect to see it named the MCRS either.
