I run 2 rings on my bridge so swapping from Srt to Ddrt is just a click away. I find the Akimbo takes care of the rest. Same cam settings so nothing else to change.

I wasn't a big fan of it before. Not that it's a bad tool, it just wasn't interfacing well with me and my ropes. But I tried it out again on my new rope and presto, I really like it now.
Let's just say I know people. Hopefully you won't need to know anyone to get this diameter soon.

"The Fly" Affordable kernmantle that seems to fuzz out nice with age (for grip) but still compatible with 11mm devices like Eddy, Rig, Pantin, Unicender, and yes even Akimbo!
The fact that the Akimbo IS easily adjustable mid-climb (while on lanyard) makes it the most versatile of all devices IMO. And easy on/off rope without detaching from the harness. And compact and secure. And moves like a hitch for swings and bombing out. And is RADS-able. And robust - doesn't feel flimsy. Oh and it's sexy too so potential mates will be into it.

While the tending shackle is rated for 500 lbs the way the lower cam interacts with the weight of the climber makes it impossible to use as a ddrt attachment point. It is the same with the bulldog bone and the roperunner.

I run everything off of a swivel. When I am using any of these tools, if I switch to Ddrt (clutch the pearls) I clip my bitter end to the bottom ring of the swivel that the bridge runs through. Lose the swivel action, but...

Dare I even ask? Has anyone tried it on KM3 13mm? Does it have that extra half a millimeter of adjustment to fit this fat, blue bastard? Even the RopeWrench is so tight on it, I'd have to eat cheesecake 5 times a day to get up to weight to descend on it. Then I wouldn't be able to back up, again. It's a nice, firm 32-strand kernmantle.

Bulky and ugly finished eye, but still strong enough. Word around NERopes is that was the downfall of the rope, and the reason for the birth of Tachyon. Tachyon definitely stays rounder than FLY, which is a real bonus for mechanicals.@Raven , do you still climb on it? Sounds as though you do from your post. Rope characteristics can sure change over time with repeated use.

I would agree the bulky eye is a bit of a pain. I have found the stitched eye is less of a problem but not ideal. As for flattening I would have to disagree in my experiences. Tachyon flattened and hardened very quickly when wrenching for me. So I switched to fly and have not found that to be the case. I wish @monkeylove would give me his akimbo so I could see if it reacts differently. But for now I gotta wait.... I like fly with my wrench and runner and have been happy so far.

I think the production models will work with 13mm but the protos don't really.

Out of my cold dead hands @flyingsquirrel25 . I have a preorder coming from Jamie as soon as he is done with them, I figured I would send that one down your way to try out. No sense in judging the pros and cons off my customized prototype.
Mert, it may be the memory that makes a difference here...or at least for me, since I probably weigh half again what you do.
The kernmantle construction of FLY will go back to round easier than a double braid. The last I climbed on FLY was in '13 when I couldn't adjust my Runner to keep from creeping. Wrenching was always good.
I gave that rope to Sean, and he was on it at Longwood. Now it's a couple lanyards and a short tag line. Haha!
Frank, was that before or after I took a couple locks and hung for a hot second? I was thinking it felt a little draggy going up and a firm to release...

Have or do you plan to do any drop testing on the Akimbo? I mean like if a 200 lb. guy fell off a branch and it was shocked at say 4 feet that wasn't tended...that would be a 800# shock wouldn't it? (doubles every 2 feet?)

I took and akimbo and pulled nearly 3500# and no slip now it was adjusted quite hard and prob would not tend well at all. I started to disassemble HTP with it at nearly 9500.
