Another nice thing about this steel Oxan is that when it is just out of your reach you can capture it with a magnet rather than having to carry some kind of reach pole.I bought the Oxan exactly for this reason. I will still use a lightish weight with the oxan, and can nearly throw up to 30'..
Tom, I remember seeing your magnet/scabbard idea a long time again! What took you so long to post that great idea. You have others you are holding out on I know like the connector to the rope grab. Thanks again for the seed thought on the adjustable rope bridge. It is a change from my frog walker type system and I have entered the world of bungee but your thought on this has made the transition good.My handsaw scabbard has had rare earth magnets on it for over fifteen years. Putting the magnet towards the non-tooth side will pull the blade away from the top corner of the scabbard. This extends the life of the scabbard. Even with Silky's roller the scabbard will last much longer.
Tom, two things, if it wasn't for you and Mark providing this forum I would not know much! (Assuming I know anything of course)I've been in arbo discussions for close to 20 years. During that time I've shared almost everything that I can...at least once
To me, all of these ideas aren't a big deal, just tinkering and being sorta lazy, but ambitious over the years.
In 25 words or less and with a picture if possible, it would be great to see some of your ideas.
This thread may give you some ideas of a discussion about a technique or concept to start elsewhere but I would like to see this stay simple.
I look forward to many great ideas.
Sounds like my job description as an industrial engineer at a company which builds aircraft carriers and submarines. You get it...when I say I'm lazy I mean that I don't like wasting energy. If I can save a step or a second, without going into deficit, I do. That's what a lot of innovative people do too.
