Best back scratcher ever, other than a girlfriend? Piece of rope - hits every spot with ease and comfort.

I thought I was the only one but when I flake my climbing line back into the rope bag I use the over the shoulder/back method for that last section that ends up on the ground to guide it into the bag.
Always looked forward to a little back scratch in the process.
I hate to admit it but it sounds a little kinky I know.
I use loop runners girthed on limbs to stand in if there is no convenient crotch for work positioning. That's not really a new idea but it's useful. I'll also wrap a runner around a slippery limb that I need to stand on. Makes like a little non slip mat.

Same here, I always carry three or four slings with me. they work great to self catch small limbs in awkward positions too.
This is more of an arborist thing than a climber thing but if you take your binoculars and look backwards through the fat end they become a low powered microscope for macro views.
For leaning spar removal, choke your climbing line so that what ever side of the lean you go out on, your against the bight and snug it up till comfortable. Been able to stand right on the side of some heavy leaners with out being flipped around to the under side.
when on spikes with no over head TIP, instead of going around the stem with your lanyard traditionally, one can put it around starting from the opposite side of you lanyard which is on your saddle, so that when it clip back into your d ring, the lanyard crosses over its' self. helps for better balance at times.
I often use a similar technique but instead of going around the trunk opposite your dee ring, I lanyard in normal but before clipping into dee I cross the lanyard over then back under as to capture the rope then clip into dee ring.
I use an archery trigger on my Bigshot, when the strap with the hand grip finally broke I replaced it with a couple of steel O rings to connect the archery cord directly to the Bigshot pouch.
The archery cord is girth hitched to the rings with a stopper knot and can be easily replaced. I store a couple of extras under some electrical tape wrapped on the head of the Bigshot.
I needed a 6oz throw weight to max the height gain using fishing line, got tired of loosing weights and an expensive throw pod in thick undergrowth.
Bought a steel stake from HD for about 3.00, cut it into about 10 weights, attached a small wire for attachment, plastic dip and a little white or colored electrical tape for viability, made a 145' TIP with one, lost another but no big deal.
