Ziglar Training Materials?

Anyone ever buy some of Ziglar's training materials?

http://www.ziglar.com/shop/index.php/cPath/23

I would like to have professional training, but I don't have time to go somewhere multiple times per week and thousands of dollars to spend. So, I'm considering purchasing the Ziggets DVD .

It's got 48, 30-45minuts lessons. The price is $499.

The topic are:

--Sales
--Marketing
--Managment
--Customer Service
--Staff Development
--Personal Development

The price seems high at first, but I got quoted $12,500 for sales training from a legit sales training company.

Seeing Ziglar's material online makes me think it may be worth it.

Anyone else do this stuff?

I can't speak of the items you posted but I do have some of his older work. "5 Steps to Successful Selling"
and "Ziglar on Selling" which to me were worth the price just for the humor.

I also have "A View From The Top" which is more personal but I highly recommend.

I think as owners we must be consistent in reading ,learning and growing.I do not think we should ever stop reading.Go aahead and get the materials use them and keep learning new stuff always.Check out Og mandino/emyth,and anything leadership by Maxwell....

Zig Ziglar is great. Really changed my view on what I thought a good salesman is. 500 doesn't sound too outrageous. When you're done with them, can I have em' for 250?

and I'll buy them from you for $125.

Do the deal Jamin.

Both Zig and John Maxwell are great resources.

Zig has a podcast through iTunes and you can get daily stuff from Maxwell through his websites.

Both are funny/entertaining speakers. I've seen Maxwell many times and have had the opportunity to meet him a few times as well.

A great book to read is "How I raised myself from failure to success" by Frank Bettcher

Harvey Mackay is good too. I read most of his stuff, "Swim With the Sharks (Without Being Eaten Alive), Beware the Naked Man Who Offers You His Shirt and Dig Your Well Before You're Thirsty.

I found all of the motivational speakers and business authors to be a great source for developing the technical skills we need to operate a company.

Jamin, sharpening skills like sales, marketing, business development, leadership should all be worked on through reading ,tapes, seminars etc.... we need to stay committed to the process. Some times it is tough to block out the time!! well worth it,"leaders are readers"

Jamin when you are a business owner it's no different than learning and growing as an arborist. I recommend working with a business coach. Actioncoach started in Australia but are in the US now too.

I agree Trevor. I've been thinking of a business coach/consultant for a while now. I went to a company not too long ago, but it didn't see like a fit. But, I'll keep looking.

I figure, my slower months are coming up, so I'd like to invest time into my salesmanship, management, administration, organization, etc...

I believe our operations are dialed in well, but I see where my business is growing and getting nearly out of control. I need people smarter than me to keep this busines tame.

Jamin check out Sandler sales institute. Their approach is a little more outside the box. It allows you to keep you self esteem. Which is key. I did a training course for about 3k it was 6 weeks I think. We did alot of role playing which is key. Good luck!

DJM. Interesting you mention that. I met up with a guy from Sandler Sales Institute a couple of weeks ago. I was proposed $12.5k for their training. It would be that intense 6 weeks, then (if I chose to do it) it would be endless training from there. I have a chiropractor friend who has been "training" (more like staying sharpened) for over 3 years.

I can't afford the time away from the business nor-do I want to pay that amount. Not that I don't think they aren't worth that, I just can't do it for various reasons.

Jamin thats interesting. I paid 3k which I thought was alot at the time. I think ever franchise is different. Good luck!

I have searched on Youtube: Sandler Sales Training and there are lots of videos posted there. Shoot, I bet I could get some pointers there.

I also looked at some public libraries around here for sales training material. There is a lot of stuff for free in public libraries.
