Your Preferred Carabiners?

On everything except a lanyard termination. Push up gates for those, or better yet a decent snap.

DMM Aero is my current favorite for lanyard (hitch side). Can’t decide b/t DMM O or RE O, both are nice functioning, I like DMM style better.

Different 'biner for different functions. I have one of the most usual suspects, each has their place.

I love the RE pull motion most of the time over the push. I also love $15 Canadian Oval Carabiner-SL Tech as the function fine and are my go to for light rigging.

I'll never buy a DDM XSRE Mini after finding US Rigging Micro, they feel / hold up about the same to me.

I have a slight addiction to collecting every colorway of DMM Ultra O just because. Being able to rotate end for end smoothly is often very pleasing. Just big enough for most configurations.

One that I kinda regret was getting a Petzl Rollclip Triact, The "Z" version would work betting in most of my applications. Having to pass the gate or pulley is very limiting. I didn't care for the DMM Revolver.

I like smaller, so the Petzl SmD or DDM Phantom / Perfect O / Sentinel are nice if everything fits correctly. I've never seen an ISC Mighty Mouse. I thought the Singing Tree (Notch) Quicky would be amazing, but it is really limited to certain applications.

Did you do it yet? Lanyard termination is the one spot where it’s uncomfortable for me. On the end of a lanyard and thrown around a spar, it ends up backwards.
Great biners though, I love them!

My climb gear is built out of the rock o and RE wire gates. The HH2 is the only climbing carabiner I use that has a tradition gate. I have a snap for my lanyard termination, but I get what some guys are saying about a regular gate working well in that orientation. When the HH2 carabiner terminates to my bridge, it feels natural much like my RE. But I am forever getting wrong during the HH2 setup.

The RockO works well in the tree, too. I didn't have any problem with it moving on the lanyard. I tied an anchor hitch with a long tail, and whipped the tail securely. It's not going anywhere.

I may have to spring for another RockO for the other end, though.

Petzl A-OKs are my preferred carabiners... Especially in tactical black. Their gate action is flawless. I have a Petzl Eashook for my lanyard and love that connector too. Oh, and I have the AM'D with a hitch-climber and Michoacán for my lanyard too.

I have a DMM Rhino for my rope wrench system, and the gate always seems to get locked up from grime and needs to be cleaned and oiled quite often in order to function properly.

I really wanna give the Rock Exotica up-lock Rock-O's a run. They look cool. I've always avoided the rock-os because of the opposite gate action, but now that they have the up-locks I'm down to give 'em a whirl.

I use mostly RockOs, except my lanyard termination, which is a Petzl Am’d ball lock (updated version). The ball lock is the best lock action for a lanyard I’ve tried. ISC triple action snap is nice, but not durable. The lock mechanism always bends, jamming the auto closing requirement.

Agree with you 100% on both points. For me it is Rock O biners on all mechanical hardware (with the wire keeper), Rock O regular ovals for everything else, except for lanyard terminations. I ALWAYS use a ball lock for that place in my climbing system. There is nothing that gives me the sense of security that a ball lock does.

I use a RE Pirate on the end of my lanyard, because the gate is not inline with the direction of pull, but angled, it almost feels like a twistlock. If I used an oval there I would go with a regular action or ball lock, although I don't really like ball locks much on a lanyard. For rope access and mechanical devices, the Am'D ball lock is my absolute favorite though.
