I know...this should go in Off Topic. Since it is about talking though...

I worked in New Orleans for 11 months in '06-'07. There were people from all over the US, mostly the SE states. One fellow said to me...'You talk funny!' to which a buddy of mine who's from Charlotte, said, 'When you listen to the evening news who do you hear, Tom, or yourself?' The guy thought for a second, and said, 'Tom.' There...YOU speak funny

On a side note I think the worst slam of a male vocalist I've ever heard was about 20 years ago in a local club when I overheard someone say:
"He sings like he has a mouthful of That term is abhorrent ". LOL!
