You guys probably won't see this...

Re: You guys probably won\'t see this...

I have tried that. Didn't work for me. But what I did learn is that for it to work you got the right kind pulley. Decent size and squared out. I did it with a regular micro pulley. Don't get me wrong, I got 10-15 foot before I gave up. The disteil might work better too, I tried it with a VT.

One thing I have noticed about a helmet cam, you will never see the climbers face.

Re: You guys probably won\'t see this...

Yeah, the friction hitch has to be a compact one, that's why I used the Distel, and it has to grab quickly and it did. I can see how a VT would cause all kinds of problems in this application.

The rope and hitch material might make a difference too.

Plus this is SRT, so an extra turn or so has to be added to the hitch. But I only added one extra turn compared to what I'd use on DdRT.

LOL - yeah, that just doesn't seem fair about he helmet cam does it? It's almost like we need one pointing back at us.

The chest mounted cams that point back at the person's face are cool to a point. It can become very disorienting when the climber is moving around. The background swings wildly about.

What you need is a film school student to climb with you in the summer!

Don't I wish I had a 'film' crew! Or person. And this summer it's just gonna get worse - I'm off in the summer you know. I know, I know that's just not fair.
