Yale Kernmaster

Hello folks,
Is anyone using the Yale Kernmaster? I'd like to get a rerview on it, mainly stretch/bounce. I know that it knots very well for a static line and has a great "feel".

An excellent rope for many applications. The sheath is thinner than some others and the core is braided. This lends to a softer hand initially and less "work hardening" over time.

The coolest part is the stretch. At body weight loads it has roughly .50% at 250 lbs. so under normal load it's is very static. However, if you fall into it and take the load to 700lbs or so the stretch is 2.4%. It all comes from the mix of nylon and polyester used.

It is also light for its diameter. For climbing I would go with the 1/2" since it won't add much in weight. For those who like a smaller diameter the 7/16"
works well too.

The down side is to my knowledge it is not hand splicable. A industrial stitched eye would work well.

Look for Yale to possibly intro new colors this year.
