X-ring, ring and ring sling info

I was wanting to make an ultra sling but stopped when I read the abrasion in the locking brummels is excessive. I believe that was the case with tenex. Anyone know about the T- rex hollow braid?

T rex is essentially the same, although it has a waxier coating than tenex.
I would be more worried about high modulus fiber than polyester in a ultra sling, but yes yhw ultra sling will load the brummels hard. I do 3 brummels in that application.

So, I'm guessing the 1/2'' T-rex and the 2.6 omni block is a good pair then? Someone made one here with chafe guard in the eye and the pockets. Nice look to it as well as extra protection.

Aw shit isn't the t rex half inch gray and orange? That would seeexy.
Would probably work pretty good too... Priorities...
Half inch t rex is white and orange, and while it would look good with the omni 2.6.... I would probably slap 5/8 with it. 5/8 is yellow and orange and still a sexy combo with the 2.6.

@96coal449 The self abraiding brummels that people were refering to on here was amsteel. Dyneema is self abrasive. Tenex or t rex would be fine.

I happened to be scrounging through my extra gear bins and came across 6 Beast X Rings and 8 Large X Rings, I'll have to order some Medium and Small X Rings for the rigs I want to make!

I splice 20' of that 7/8'' T rex into a dead eye with an end splice on the tail. I made it for the blue 1'' CMI block. I didn't get the block yet but I can visualize those blue side plates with the orange/blue sling. :D

Edit: That may be only 15' long. Been a while since I made it.

now doesn't that just look like they were made for each other?

If you're gonna make cool stuff... it has got to look cool, too! Eventually, it will all fuzz up, fade, and start looking like something that fell out of a bird's nest, anyway. Good reason to order more colorful/shiny stuff. Always cracks me up when customers ask where the hell I got all those beautiful ropes. They expect all ropes to look like some old, greasy Manilla rope that fell off a pirate ship. One woman even told me she'd like to make a rope fence around a flower bed, until I told her how much those ropes cost.

You can get a ring in there after doing a Mobius brummel but it's a muthafucka.
Or my terminology is wrong it's a regular locking brummel.
@oceans please translate my jiberish explanation
As I was taught, the Möbius becomes locked as the eye is being drawn out (re-verted). That means you'd have to pry the ring in there, thus being a "mutha", and potentially un-secure.

I was able to get a ring in after the fact with a normal locking brummel. I just had to work the second brummel back thru the first and then work the ring in, once you set everything back to normal it's indistinguishable from any other locking brummel.

I'm ordering some X rings and some stable braid and tenex. I'm going to splice one set, a ring on each end, with the stable braid using Samson eye splice
The second one will be different length in tenet and do locking brimmed on one end, and try to do brimmed on other and do as you've said, fit it in. Other option is, and maybe @oceans can answer this, to do a straight bury with 3 fid lengths in the tenex on the other end, and lock stitch with braided nylon. I was told somewhere, that the straight bury in the tenex will work just fine. But I'm no splice expert.
