properly tied, this is an excellent, safe to use, and easy to operate climbing hitch.
improperly tied, this can be just as unworkable as any other improperly tied and dressed knot.
this animation done by TreeSpydey gives a good example of how to tie the knot. The tail can come out opposite of entry point. This isn't in 3D.
its used in an open format, or closed hitch set up.
I like it because it takes less force to operate. that's the bottom line. Yet it reacts more true.
