wow what do you think about this guy? *DELETED*

Re: wow what do you think about this guy?

Grover, if that pruning is outdated now in Europe, what's "in"? I'd try to steer the client to smaller cuts further out. Instead of <12 cm maybe <8 cm; a couple nodes out from the origin will make a smaller less horizontal wound. That might result in less vigorous sprouting, and more time between pruning visits, and a more natural tree.

I really don't like the 3 close together at the top--hard to see good structure coming out of that. And no offense to a fine orange and white company but i think a chainsaw is a waste of effort on those little cuts. 1 opinion; like othumb I believe a finely honed handsaw stroke is invaluable.

What we have to lose is these rigid boxes/envelopes/paradigms like <25% crown loss at a time, winter pruning is best, the 1/3 Rules etc, and adjust our specs according to scope (tree type and location) and objectives/goals. Trees are quite flexible, and our minds must be as flexible as our bodies to care for them well.

I tried to say all this in the climbers corner piece this month, but Not too well; it's pretty hard to get across.
