Vines are the curse of the south. If its not wisteria its green briar. If not green briar its poison ivy. I hate them all. We are just about at wisteria bloom time and the pollen will make you feel like you have rolled in talcum.

It's amazing how much harder things become when vines are involved, easy to underestimate a project. Some of them are so strong and stringy I've seen large trees hung up by a few vines the diameter of a pencil, it can really screw up felling when you get surprised by one you didn't see.
Clearing smallish softwoods off a slope where they were interfering with a friend's mountain view was a vine nightmare, although it was kinda fun when I cut that last tree anchoring the vines and could watch up to 10 trees all fall in unison.

Their house looks like a shopping district in Sweden.
Still being built. 9 car garage with heated floors. Has to be at least 10,000 sq feet. Just a seasonal spot, probably only be there a month or two out of the year. Supposedly the owner has never been to the property.
Landscape architect hired us in for the week to prune every tree on the property. It's a few acres. Good people to work for I guess lol

River birch removal, good amount of backweight towards the house. Redirected a pull line thru a nearby spruce, then into a portawrap anchored to the truck. Pretensioned with a 5:1, made a nice wide face cut, backed it up with wedges, then pulled it over with the 5:1.

Had a lovely solo day felling and rigging from the ground. Mostly dead 20” dbh oak leaning to the right (house and septic). Well head is under the red can. 22” dbh brushy spruce leaning to wires wedged over with a line rigged just in case.

Set a block up the pine and mini leaned/lifted a super nasty rotten maple that was leaning hard to drive. Notch, pull, bore.

Organized everything and had some fun with my new 15xp. From felling the oak to finishing chipping was 3.5 hrs. Grabbing logs another day.

Few years ago I was towing a dump trailer with my rotting pickup slashing brush and moving all the wood by hand. Back, shoulders, and wrist issues and truck sucking money. Super appreciative today of equipment, health, and customers who have been there from the start.
