Who sells this?

I'm wondering what US dealers sell the Tree Austria saddle? I'm looking at both the Tree Austria 2 and 3 but can't either in any online catalogs.

I want a good comfortable saddle that will last more than 2 years and is reasonably priced. I know most would say the butterfly but ive hung in that a few times and it was never comfortable for me.

I'm willing to listen to other saddle recommendations. It needs to be reasonable in price, has to have a floating bridge system, needs to be proven durable, prefer a saddle where i can attach the landyard up front off my hips more like a split climbing system (if you follow what i'm saying, the treemotion and ergovation both have this in their systems.)

Try the Saddle XS, it has a great floating D and solid gear loops. I think it's beefier than other saddles, made for long days with really great back support. B2 is a great saddle, too, but the Ds were too wide for me and the bridge too far away. I havent' used the TreeMotion, so can't speak to that.

Yeah ive looked at that saddle and sat it in a couple of times but the back pad is TOO big. I do like it a lot think they are on to something but they need to update it.

Thanks for you input.

I tried the Tree Austria and liked it alot, but the price was pretty high for me. It had to do with the Euro vs. the dollar, which made it like over $500. I later found it online for less, I think the site was called arborist.com. I think they are based in PA. Google that and or Tree Austria, and see what you find.

I heard from Sean they should be getting the TA3 in soon, so you may want to call him and see.

I'd also like to put in a recommendation for the Cougar. It's a great, durable saddle. Plenty of padding, and I believe you can attach the lanyard to the front via the two rings the bridge is secured too. Also a very reasonable price point, only around $200!!

I agree with holly, been to the store plenty of times, great company and they had that saddle there the last time I went (early January?)

They also have a bar set up so you can test sit your new saddle and they are competitively priced.

Ed, how do you like your treemagic and how much did ya spend on it?

Thanks for your responses, i called American Arborist and they said they had one but the lady could't tell me if it was the 1st 2nd or 3rd one. When aske if it was 1,2,3 she kept telling me that was the sizes. Whatever if they have it i'll run down and try it out, been there twice.

M & I Fresco just sold their last one. I'll have to check with Wesspur i've dealt with them before and they are great.

Anyone with any experience on this saddle? Specially interested about the Austria 3

just my opinion but check out the Honeybrothers website. idk if thy have the saddle you are lokkin for but they have the treemotion (which i think is an awesome saddle) and plenty of others. they are located over seas but even with shipping everything is far less costly then here in the states. Sherill wants over 500 for a treemotion i got mine for around 300.

Call back when the owner is there he tell you what they have. My last saddle was the TA #1 it was a great saddle alround, only issue I had with it was the waist belt kept losing up after use. finnally got pissed and sewed the belt clip in place never had problems after that. The bosun seat clip on is a great extra to this saddle when long sitting in needed to be done. After 4 years of use the bridge wore out and I gave it away to someone who replaced the bridge and still using it. All other parts when last seen still holding up, about 3 months ago. So that makes the saddle 7 years old and still standing up.

I love it, best saddle I've owned yet. 3 years and still no wear outs. I laugh, cause I know many told me the plastic loops would break off, must see Greg this year at the show and let him know. I've not lost one yet. Lightest saddle I've owned, other light ones where petzel navaho, TA #1. The cost if a remeber right was $300 maybe a bit more? I got mine over seas.

Ted, I don't think he is carrying them anymore bc of the exchange rate thing. That's why I didn't buy one from him... He had a small size for like $300, but to order a Medium was gonna be like $500.

It's still worth a call, since he is a dealer. 800-720-8733.

How did they replace the bridge? I used the TA1 and liked it until I got my treeFlex. I could not figure out a way to safely replace the bridge.

Is it responsible to hand someone a 4 year old harness with a broken bridge?

Here is the TA1. All 3 can be found at Freeworker. American Arborist can get any of these also.

how was the bridge replaced

the main bridge had worn out almost dead center. It was cut in the center. Then 2 d rings where sewn in place using the 2 ends of the orginal bridge since there was almost no wear at either end. After that he used it for a short time as fixed D saddle. Now it has a short rope bridge.

is it ok to give a 4 year old saddle

[/ QUOTE ]

The saddle itself was in very good shape, no frays, tears, or signs of wear. The only part to wear was the bridge. I had told Drayer about this at the MD show in 99 or 2000 forget what year now. After only owning the saddle for 2 years the bridge was showing signs of wear and that TA would be a great saddle if it had a replaceable bridge, and parts. He just shrugged and knidly ignored me. In my eye the saddle still suffers from this akilies heel. As you can see by all 3 versions they try to address the bridge problem, yet wont simple disign a good replaceable one. rather dumb if you ask me.
