Which to choose? Mini Skid Steer

Vermeer has a new ctx 100 with a 40 hp diesel and vertical lift out..tipping load is 2958 with a 175 operator. 89.5 inch pin height.
where did you see it has vertical lift? I thought only the toro TX1000 had vertical lift. (wide track tipping @ 3075lbs)
If it does (don't doubted it)that's a big deal. Most machines will tip at less weight if they actually lift a load high due to their out and up radius of loader arms.

And I call a big BS on the toro tx1000
3075 tipping load when the unit only weighs 2800 lbs...not possible!
guess I was wrong, this spec says 3071lbs tipping, thought I saw 3075lb some where. Toro rep was at the delivery of my machine and explained why this is the best in class machine available. No your machine is not in the same class, even though the toro will out lift it.lol

I call BS on those hp and tq ratings. Vermeer says its a 40hp machine.

well believe it or not, that's what it's rated at. Toro rep was at the delivery of my machine and explained why this is the best in class machine available. No your machine is not in the same class, even though the toro will out lift it.lol
From what I understand, the tipping capacity is about one third of the lift capacity. so it makes sense that the lift capacity is 3000lbs,while the tipping capacity is 1000lbs

most rated lifting capacities are 35% of tipping capacity. I believe that is SAE rating. If not they are going to show 50% rating. Mini tracked loaders are not held to either i understand.

Yes, sorry I got that backwards.
Right on.
Did you get a grapple for that bad boy? That thing must be a digging beast with that bucket! The only time I really notice lack of power with my 25hp jobber is when using the bucket to dig and plow with. I rented a 40hp? ditch witch for a few months last year and boy was that turbo spooling when loading er up with dirt.

Even of it is 40 hp and say 100 lb ft of torque that's alot!
No other loader of any brand, or any size is rated to tip at more than actual machine weight it doesn't matter what size of loader it could be t870 it's still not going to lift more than it weighs, I would love to see a video of someone running a toro tx 1000 over a scale to get a genuine weight and then picking up 3070 pounds, to prove me wrong.

Hi guys, been enjoying this thread. Read it many times to glean some of your guy's experience with Mini Tracks. I own a landscaping company and it's time to pull the trigger. I have a few questions for you. I will put them bellow. Been doing a lot of research. Narrowed down to the DW SK600. I hear of you guys mentioning the SK650 but that one isnt offered anymore. And the SK752 is just a little too wide to fit into back yard gates for some of my jobs, otherwise I would have gone for that one. Better lift capacity. Haven't got a quote from Vermeer yet, but hear you guys like that one too. Here's my 3 questions:
1. Anyone use the SK600? If so, what are your thoughts?
2. How will the SK600 do with running augers, stump grinders and lifting/digging out 3" tree and hedge stumps out of the ground?
3. Which Vermeer Model should I check out that is less than 36" wide and can lift more than 500lbs?
Thanks Guys!
David

I'll take a swing at this one...new 752 is available in 36 with has a 83 inch pin height...
The 600 only has a 36" track length so it will be tippy compared to larger machines...and lower lift height...comparable to a mt52 or mt55
I have personally ran the vermeer 40 hp gas model tx800 and it is a nice machine, also have ran the ctx100 and that is beast mode 40 hp turbo diesel, and vertical lift.
I have not ran a ditch witch yet because they are over an hour away, but they make nice machines. buy the biggest one with the most power you can afford. You will never wish you bought the smaller one. Also....dealer support is king!!! 4 local bobcat dealers within 30 miles from me makes the decision easy.
New mt85 is a good machine...almost bulletproof, if not a bit underpowered when compared to the other "top dog" machines.
Toro is having nothing but problems with thier new tx1000....stay away for now..until bugs are worked out.
Price is a huge consideration for 90% of people...
New toro tx1000 30k
New vermeer tx800 32k
New ditch witch sk850 32k
New bobcat mt85 22k...
There are others but here are a few, also
Makes a big difference if you already have larger skid steers? If so most of the larger attachments or buckets can be picked up and run without an adapter plate with the bobcat machines...huge plus for me.

Thanks for responding Tread Lightly. I love Bobcat. They are a solid company with solid equipment. With that said, I have been avoiding their mini skids for 2 reasons. And maybe the 2 reasons are minor. But they feel like legitimate ones to me. Let me know your thoughts, but the first reason is the non-universal attachment system. I like the fact that the other manufactures are interchangeable for the simple reason I can rent attachments I need for specific jobs as the jobs come and I do not have to purchace so many attachments. A guy could spend more on attachments then the machine and use certain ones infrequently. However, if I went with Bobcat, and if there is a place that rents BC's attachments that is close to me, then that problem solved. But then there is the 2nd issue....The trolly. I wish they had a stand plate. I do not like that trolly apparatus. It's low to the ground and prone to hitting things when backing up or maneuvering in tight place? Correct me if I am wrong about that.

I have over 250hrs on my SK752 With minimal issues. I know there is a narrow track option. I would buy again in a heart beat. I went with the SK752 for a couple of reasons.
-Lift, its the same chassis as all the bigger displacement machines the only reasons is rated for less lift because it weighs less. That being said if you have counter weight (more guys) on it it will lift more.
-Engine, Bullet proof kubota. Under 25hp doesn't have emissions BS. Not the most power but plenty for picking and moving logs and dragging brush. If you were gonna be moving dirt, and running attachments all the time, then maybe you need for horsepower.
-Ground speed, 4.7MPH in reverse and forward. I run mine in reverse as much as forward.
-Price point, I got my with a grapple, bucket, & forks for 25k. 0% for 2 years. Toro was 28k no attachments, and the vermeer 750 was 28k or more with no attachments.

I use my SK752 with vermeer grapple to dig small tree, and shrubs out all the time. You can grab around the stump to bust up the root ball, and they come out usually with no issues.
