which chainsaw pants?

Counting pruning, cabling/bracing and removals - sorta 50/50 - love climbing but end up dealing with ground mess on most jobs too. Job in question was a felling job largely - unusual for me but fun thunkin' down old wood (some of it even went where I aimed it . . . !). :)
I think we are looking at an approx November release for pant that will similar characteristics to the Pfanner, except obviously a lot lighter and more comfortable!

Question for everyone out there! Would you be interested in really comfy stretch jeans that also had chainsaw protection? They aren't available yet, still progressing through the skunk works. They literally look like a pair of jeans, and everyone that has worn the prototypes says they feel amazing to wear. They will definitely have a back pocket!
Not me, I'm not a fan of jeans at all. I know a lot of people will love em though.

Jeans not really for work (maybe for loggers if BC WCB approved) - nice feature list: belt loops, suspenders/ suspender loops - pfanner had done this well with just their light weight suspenders with no back piece, front pockets (zip)(one sized for iPhone) and tool pockets (velcro)(lower down so they are still accessible using harness leg loops), back pocket right side (zip), pockets for knee pads (I use ensolite pads cut to size rather than the heavy OEM rubber ones), Class II Type 2, elastic cuff OK but not big on the boot lace snagger thingy - usually cut these off, tuff material on inside of lower legs for anti-scuff, available patching material (ya know it's gonna happen) included WITH the pants on purchase and also available separately on company website, realistic washing instructions and maybe OEM detergent if it's really better (some of the commercial rope washes out there really are better I think). Oh yeah and colours - black and grey are nice but what about light colours - lime green or off white of some sort for summer. Matching shirts with collars and short sleeves?
Some years ago I got three pairs of Pfanner Gladiator pants and must say they come close to my bucket list:
(Not sure about an old guy in snazzy red or orange though . . . . . . )
Favourite jeans for fit: Original Wrangle Boot Cut Jeans - they're the standard - horses wouldn't recognize me in anything else.
Others please add?

Back when I bought my Stihl pants my dealer told me that Stihl are the only saw pants that can be washed at 60°C, which makes them better for working in conifers. Is that true or was that just marketing? Also, he probably wasn't aware of any non European brands like Clogger. He would definitely be aware of Husquarna and Pfanner.

Please put a back pocket on the clogger zeros. It's really irritating to not have one. I just bought 6 pair so this is coming from an actual customer.
Alright, let's see what I can do. First up, what type of pocket do you want, and how big do you want it? Zipped shut or a jean type pocket or something with velcro flap type arrangement? Left or right side?

I'm for both sides, either a zippered or jean type. If only one side is possible left would be my preference. What's important is that there is no pocket "pouch" that will get folded or can pull out.
So definitely an external pocket rather than internal one? That will mean either a flap over it (which may be a pain) or just a standard open jean type external pocket.

Oh hells yes. I’d just go zippered, most secure, and it’s not like we are pulling out our wallets every five minutes. The planner gladiator vents are very tough to beat in my eyes, best, hardest wearing, longest lasting saw pant I’ve owned. My gripe is they are hot, and they do lightly limit the mobility.

Have old zeros, and new ones. Love them both, but don’t feel very durable. Lots of picks and nicks. The lace hooks are stupid and come off outta the box. They are noticeably light (weight was never a issue unless working in a Washington down pour but everything gets heavy) the pfanners rappel water better when slashing wet brush. They are much cooler, which was the sell point, but cooler at the cost of durability for about the same price point.

One major issue I have with the cloggers is I have to wear them like I’m sagging. If I wear them at my normal pant level, the seam in the ass rides up my crack badly! Seriously either my crack shows, or my asshole gets chaffed. I don’t have an odd body type. 6’ 160-165# built like a scrawny Viking.

Now I use cloggers for 2-3 months in the summer and gladiator vents the rest of the year.

"6’ 160-165# built like a scrawny Viking."

Is that like an anorexic Hun or more like a malnurished Visogoth?

I'd ideally like a zip able or some other close able pocket on the right side and an open one on the left. I put wedges in my back left pocket all the time. Putting them up front really isn't very comfortable. Maybe since they are chainsaw paints having a specific wedge pocket wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe something father around one side of your leg, etc. Thanks for the awesome pants.
