I may need some spiderlegs a crane removal job that I need to bid. Looking to read up on recommendation on materials and sources.

Largish, very horizontally spreading sycamore that had a major co-dominant trunk rip out previous to the new homeowners purchasing the home. The previous HO had the kids put a chain around two trunks, which is not grown into the trunks. A real mess, and over two garages. The homeowner described it facetiously as a "pearl of a tree".

Thanks.

this one maybe?

or this later one:

i might have to put out a video this weekend due to the recent attacking on me. Maybe I'll show a big spreading sycamore, taken down with 35 ton crane and spider legs, to kill two or three birds with one stone.

Thanks X.

That will give me plenty to re-read.

Seems like one of those skill building jobs were I won't be as efficient as an experienced crane-assisted removal climber, but will build my skills.

yeah buddy, you only should use a 460 stihl with 24" bar and ONLY 2 slings ever on tree work with a crane. We've got ya.

yeah, show me where you going to cut that bitch. tips already on the ground, so you should cut after the Y. if not, and you take the whole Y, you risk spinning that peice.

I gotta go for now sweetie.

actually that pick got put behind the chipper.

i thought you were all world. clearly that is slung to get it off the house in 1 pick....

Wow this starting again in a new thread?

By the way old I never did see you post up like Bull asked You know all that info stuff.

Anyways check the thread out I upped you one and have a 660 in the tree 460's are for the girls you know.

By the way I roll one sling all day, no matter what. More than one, is for the rookies that can't call the balance piont.

As for me I'll be there the 9th and all week, if you'd like to watch someday, it'll cost ya 300 for the lesson. Like I said before I like Bull, he and his company is getting it a bargin price.

holley you stir the pot alot and you have video with you taking a stub cut with two slings! so shut up and drink your beer you forgetful old dumbazz. ;-) and every rigging situation is different so ol dirty what are you going to do on a big dead top over a slate roof with a low wll because of boom angle are you going to grab two twigs? or you gonna let it roll over and call the insurance company? or do you use some sider legs and grab as many tips as you can? and that pick on the roof rolled with out a doubt. you can lie and bs us all you want but it rolled and tore up some shingles at the least; but thats ok right because the piece was already on the roof. c.o.g. will find its way under the lifting point every time. its just a matter of physics.

Yes Jeff On big wood stubs of a limbs, and yes that was just one limb, I use 2 for balance. I will say though, brush I use one and roll. You look and the wood picks you'll see 2 everytime. My brush cuts are just one with a 7 ton shackle.

me i'm better at balancing wood on one sling as opposed to brushy limb cuts
and using one sling they tend to roll around a bit although if the movement is slow and minimal i don't see the problem as long as property, personnel, and equipment are not damaged. its the fast banging and shock loading i don't like especially with the little cranes we use to dismantle trees. i'm with you guys 75% of the time though one or two slings and some rigging knowledge is all thats needed. we were plucking some tore up limbs off an american elm doing a crown restoration and i used one choker on the tips of the limb and a butt hitch with a 5/8" three strand in the tree with 20' of rope it worked real well and the ground men had a tag line to boot.

you gotta be retarded man. how the f is that thing going to roll when it is halfhitched to the upper leader and slung on the lower? it can't roll. and again, no damage from that pick.

i am convinced that almost none of you have even the slightest clue on doing the actual work. you might sit around the buzz and verbally felate each other but in reality you have no clue. none.

that's what I was looking for in the picture the first time you put it up, I was thinking it would have been a good set up if it was hitched also to the top little leader. I tried my best to see if something was there but it looked like nothing was there. It was a decent rig then if it was there.

right! i didn't pull up the pick and super enlarge the photo to look for a half hitch. personally i don't care that much. and daddy o you are THE retard: you still have to try, and i emphasize the word: TRY to be cool on the internet. are we supposed to bow at your greatness? cause dude i've worked with cranes that will pick up the largest crane you've ever and i mean ever worked with and sit it 200' away; so if your good, then cool; if not, then don't get killed. nice pick, if it really didn't do anymore damage.

Thats not one sling then. Its a sling and a half hitch. But nice pick.

what? 1 sling is one sling man. doesn't matter how many half hitches.
