Thought so at first, but the growth habit is weiiiiiiiiiird, it's got about 50 limbs all growing in an upward orientation, no defined central leader.. I still have no idea what it is.

How bout Eucommia ulmoides? If you tear the leaf will it stick together with latex strands?
