What sort of knives do you carry on your harness?

I came across a beehive today and luckly i had my bread and butter knife clicked into my harness so i was able to spread fresh honey onto my breadroll!( i carry bread rolls on a karabiner on my harness too!)

I can't seem to keep one on my person while aloft. The thought has crossed my mind about tying throwline to one and clipping it into my pocket, but I haven't done it yet.

Brother bought me a nice one for xmas, it went up the tree with me once, and I lost it.

That's maybe the third or so I've lost in a tree. Doesn't seem all that necessary anyway, like others have said, handsaw.

BearClaw rescue knife has a blunt tip designed for working around someones body(perhaps cutting away a harness)without a chance of penetrating skin in a rescue situation, very smart feature and it cuts rope nicely.

Started carying a simple Gerber folding knife. Has a 2.5 inch drop blade. Made a lanyard outta 550 chord and attach it to my Conterra radio harness or my FA fanny pack depending on what I'm doing.

It is not there necessarily for rope cutting but I have found it useful on occasion for cutting tape, christmas lights, string, First-aid-tape, repairing whipping, opening packages.

It is a standard edge, no serrations, as I find that more usefull all around. And I keep it uber sharp with a fine edge. Since it is not frequently used I find sharpening it after it has been used to be a reasonable hassle.

Re: What sort of knives do you carry on your harne

Corona hand pruners will do most things and will even open my beer bottle at the end of the day. I've seen to many knives drop out of trees so I'm not an advocate of bringing them up into trees. On one job I Was witness to three knives dropped out of trees. Remember the tree house job? The one knife landed on a picnic table that a person was sitting at.. That was a little close for comfort..Charlie is still wondering where his knife is..
