So should I leave the newer possibly offspring tree? Or get it out?

Just cut it off at ground level. It's unsightly. You will probably have to do it again because it will most likely grow back.

Update on my tree everyone ! Isn't she beautiful ! Flowers are back and she looks so vibrant and healthy again. Thanks everyone for your comments !
