What’s this chipper worth?

Thinking about my old chipper and could use some insight. Not savvy with haggling and I know what I put in it…but it’s an oldass non autofeed chipper. Think it is a 200+ Bandit but there’s no serial number, put a 80hp turbo Deere in as it had a toasted Cummins the previous owner had let sit outside without a flapper or bucket on the straight pipe exhaust for over 2 years, doh!

Some may remember the engine had a failure last summer and I had it totally rebuilt. New anvil last spring, trailer parts serviced with new hangers and bearing buddies installed, had an oldschool starter shop replace the solenoid on the starter and inspect it. Air precleaner etc etc. ~$8k in parts last year alone as the diesel shop picked up the labor part of the bill.

Business has taken off so bought a 15xp and was getting pissed it kept losing prime. Finally figured out it was siphoning out the return line and installed a check valve. Now she starts after cycling the glow plugs 30sec. every time.

However, it is non-autofeed. It is a 12” but it prefers under 10”. It doesn’t throw far and has a long tongue. Needs new paint and doesn’t have an adjustable shoot flapper thing. Spring yoke not hydraulic. Super basic to work on but damn old school. Don’t know if I should sell it or keep it as a backup if it’s not worth what I put into it??

Sven, try editing the pic a little and save it, then it should load. I usually just zoom in a little bit and save it.

We had a Bandit 200+, diesel at my first employer, it was pretty beat up and ugly, but ran excellent and was reliable. Had the cylinder on the feed rollers to open them for big logs and crush down for a lot of small stuff. Does yours have the crush cylinder?

Did all the photo tricks and no dice. Somedays stuff loads immediately, others after editing, or screenshot, or not at all. First world problems…

Those old 200 Brush bandits with a John Deere and relieble and simple to work on keep it for a back up. Worth 10k-15k IMO. I have a 2003 200 Brush bandit with a John Deere 80hp. Wont part with it even for 15k. KEEP IT unless you are really strapped.

Pics still not uploading after editing?
I’ll DM you my number or email address if you’d like me to try posting them.

That’s seems smart. We’re building a house with a partial loan (bank wouldn’t finance us) and so far over $100k out of pocket. Extra padding in the bank would be good, but if the new chipper ever goes down…

Here’s pics of Sven’s chipper.
The infeed tray makes me think it’s not a 200+. The one I used had a wider infeed, more rectangular than square.
I think this is a Bandit model 100, but I’m guessing.

Yeah doesnt look like a 200. Very similar. My trailer frame is way more beefy, feed table is a bit different. What year is that machine?

It looks nearly identical to the old Morbark I use to use. I know the history between the two companies and I’m guessing it’s a late 80’s to early 90’s machine?
