Well Known Arborist and Industry Leader Terrill Collier has passed away.

I know that many Buzzers knew Terrill. He fought a long battle with cancer and passed on May 11. He was 60 years old. He was a great supporter of our profession.
An avid scientist, educator, skier, cyclist and supporter of the Tour des Trees and the TREE Fund, he was a man with tremendous energy.
Terrill and his wife Janet established a Fund within the TREE Fund before he passed; the Collier Arborist Training Trust. You can help keep Terrill's memory alive and support our profession by donating. Here is a link https://secure.qgiv.com/for/?key=treefund
A sad day for us here in the Pacific Northwest and for the many folks that were lucky enough to know him.
RIP

Very sad, his father Ray passed away just a decade ago, but he was 96. Those are old Portland names; what a legacy. There are big trees in the Willamette valley that started out after they were already doing tree care.

Scott,
thanks for the kind words about my father. Please donate to the CATT fund. This trust is to help fund Arborist training programs. Our current focus is to begin a two year associates degree in arborculture at Clackamas Community College. Our vision is to have new candidates coming into the field have a knowledge base of the current certified arborist exam.

Terrill was a fantastic man. A mentor to many. Our profession grew because of his efforts. Sad to see him leave so soon. RIP my friend - You will be missed!

My deepest simpathies to you and the rest of your wonderful family Logan. If I can do anything please let me know.

Lets all get on the bandwagon here and get the Collier Arborist Training Trust fund rolling.
If everyone who uses this list gave what they could manage... we could give the Fund a great start.

Scroll down to select the CATT so your donation goes there.
Janet, Logan, Brandon and Quentin Collier will be grateful for our support.
Peace- Scott
