Buy just the head. It is quite a bit less expensive than the whole package and easy to adapt to aluminum thinwall tubing or other stuff from a local recycle. I found an old broken 9-ft pruning saw with the same size yellow fibreglas hollow pole, that fits the Big Shot head, tossed in the scrap at our local dump. But be aware - that Big Shot is way too much fun! You will be using it for other stuff, chasing off the neighbor's pit bull, putting the fear into obnoxious yuppie kayakers, etc.
