Wanted KASK with all the goodies.

You may wanna hold up on that. The kask helmets are falling apart and apparently the warranty replacements are just as bad. The muff adapters don't fit and he visor is fairly useless anyway.

Kask has been a huge disappointment. I regret wasting my money a Kask helmet.
 
I love the way that my KASK fits, but people are right about it falling apart. My face shield screw mounts broke off and even the threaded insert popped out. I’m changing my face shield to a wire-mesh Husky one, since I have Husky earmuffs anyways.

I saw the new Petzl Alveo with ANSI approved face shield down at the TCIA Expo, and all that I can say is WOW! That is a nice looking, well-made helmet, as is all of Petzl’s gear. Didn’t get to try it on, but if it fits as well as my KASK, then it’ll be the next helmet that I purchase.

The newly redesigned Petzl Vertex and Vertex Vent, also come equipped with mountable face shield adapter holes.
 
I like my Kask. I don't use the visor, tried it for a few days and ended up taking it off. It fits well and has held up fine, only about three months of daily use. Debating trying some ear muffs.
 
I have a white kask with a clear visor with orange peltor ear muffs that i would sell.
I just don't like the fit. It's only been worn three times all though the ear muffs are older and need new foam (Muff Hygiene Kit). I can send pics if u would like.
 
Well you have a pm sir. If the used one is in good enough shape, and the price is right I will just have to jump on it. I don't want to pay top dollar for what is reported by many to be a piece of junk. I still am curious to try one out.
If not I will wait till the new Petzl comes out and get it. The only thing is that I will have to try some window tint on the visor being that I would like a tinted visor. If you would like to keep the clear visor K that would be fine, but if you need to sell the whole thing that will work too.

2nd hand helmet for a 2nd hand head.....

Know the history of your PPE.
Other than the safety factor, i couldn't think of much worse than wearing someone elses helmet.

I've got a pair of 2nd hand underwear for sale, going cheap, only worn for a few jobs, didn't like the fit, they ride up my crack, any takers......

LOL!!!!! exactly my feelings...lol a saddle yeah, you can see the wear, a helmet you never know, plus it is next to a sweaty head right?

Sorry Dan, that wasn't intended to be a personal dig.

The 2nd hand saying has been around as long as i can remember.
Another one is $5 helmet for a $5 head.

I've heard this in everything from skating, bmx, mx, motorsport etc.

I just think helmet is one thing that shouldn't be 2nd hand or "cheap"

Besides that, other peoples usually have a certain "funk" attached that for my money isn't worth the saving.
 
I forgive ya! I was having a bad day that day. Sorry that I went off on you. I am going to wait and see what comes after the new releases come out. Till then I am going to just wear the old Dodge ball cap and "grab life by the horns".
