Views. Here is one of mine. Lets see yours.....so many great views out there.

Is that the ferry?
aye, that is them...
We got a couple of new ones, with poor balance design. I forget how many millions...
One company designed, one built the hull, the other built the top.
When put together it listed so much they couldn't fill the boat, and put the heavy stuff on the high side. So what did the state do? Built a couple more with the same plans, added a crazy amount of steel shot on the light side as ballast... We call that boat ilean. This was the for the boat they pulled for inspection, rumor has it the captain walked up to the hull in front of the coast guard and put his steel toe'd boot through the hull...
That route was fun afterwards, after a while the state contracted with a whale watching boat for a passenger only service, this is on the roughest route in the system. I'd take that boat just for the ride!

If I recall Washington has the largest ferry system in the world, and it is falling apart at the seems... I wish they'd give out a sticker to island residents for a cheaper fare, make up the difference with upping the price on the tourists.

Something a little different, here is my view as I wait for the ferry to work in the morning, and then my view on the ferry looking towards my home island in the afternoon.

I’d imagine you’d have to make sure you’re done in time to make the ferry home, or just plan to come back tomorrow?
Very cool views. I know this is said all the time but you work in a very beautiful place. I moved my family to central Illinois from Spokane a few years ago and we miss the Northwest somethin’ awful. You and the other Northwesterners who post your views give me a good fix.

Making everything work out between ferries can be a challenge. Right now I take a 7am boat to work, and options home are 12:25 (almost never take this), 2:55 and 6:10. I'm pretty good at timing jobs, bids and errands (since my island has almost zero services) but it often results in 1-2 hour waits for the next boat. So in addition to spending thousands of dollars a year getting to work most days (~$20-$25/ roundtrip) I spend hours a day dealing with or waiting for ferries. This last week they were short-staffed and the ferry I ride didn't even run on Thursday so I had to cancel that days job, then I went over on Saturday and a ferry broke down at the dock, causing me to wait over two hours to get home. It's been like this for about 3 years straight now, and why I'm trying to develop my property on this bigger island where 95% of my work is, so my commute is easier.

The price to live in paradise I guess.
