Re: vid\'s

Very nice work TK I was wondering if you were using a rigging ring or what when you had the limb balance with the slings in the crane removal.

Re: vid\'s

Very nice and professional Tod. Nice to see a bucket operator with everything under control and a lot of finesse. Ralph right? 30+ years with the company?

You really caught my attention with the spider web of rope to float an anchor point and spread loads over a number of smaller anchors when you pulled the log over.

Re: vid\'s

PU. All I use for most of our crane removals are spiderlegs. Dead eye slings that I knot to balance the load. I find this technique to be very fast and consistant with a bit of practice. Norm described the technique to me and I feel it is the best way to reduce the need for the operator to have to move the load to avoid an obsticle. With practice you could reduce the operator to moving the load up or down and not having to shift the load to avoid an absticle.

Re: vid\'s

Kevin. That footage is from last summer And I think your talking about some bigger wood being rigged with a tip tie with a single spider leg attached to the rigging line? It may have had a but tie acting as a but tie, drift line and tag line with one rope? Ralph taught me that technique many years ago. He's the man. He is currently recovery from shoulder surgery. Keep in mind.

Re: vid\'s

The Spider Web I was refering to was when you were felling the log into the rear yard. You had some MA with what appeared to be a port-o-wrap then a MA from the PW to the pull line. Best view is at 3:10 in the 'Big Crane' Vid. Is JM still working with you?

Re: vid\'s

Kevin. JM is now working for a local municipalicty, and doing well. That mess of rope is just a floating rigging point loaded with MA going to the pull line with MA in it. The client did not want their planting bed or porch disturbed.

Re: vid\'s

As far as the tags go I do not know. The vid's were done by a production company for a sales and promotional dvd. They used one of our lifts and 3 cameras. The gps is super cool. We come in and locate every tree on a property. We can even see the tree after a storm and see what's required to go there with out ever going there. Very cool.
