eric..you have very good video making/editing skills.. was the strap release cut a bore cut that was cut out of the tree from the hinge outward almost all the way out and then finished from the outside going in?
second question
was that you running from the second tree like a school girl..ha..i havent ever seen what i look like running to my safety zone so i suppose i would look the same:>

Yeah, I bored the hinge nice, bar was too short and went both sides but it was easy to line up as the bar popped out of the buttress and I could get it lined up. I bored up to the hinge not from the hinge back.

I get well out of the way as I know of 2 bad accidents, one guy had his arm busted the other got killed. The tree came back and crushed him between the fence and the stump. Another guy (I didn't know) died when a branch busted and threw back hitting him in the back of the head/neck. For what it's worth I piss right off, and remember that sometimes stuff falls out of the top of trees also as they go over.

I've never heard of too many accidents when the faller is 20' away. Plus it's good exercise, keeps you agile, and makes people wonder what the hell sort of idiot you are!
