Video: Bloody little ripper mate

Graeme,
It is a real privilege to have you here on this web site. Thanks for posting.
One of my goals is to come to your neighborhood and work with you on some jobs.
Your work with takedowns is revolutionary, as well as your filming of it...

Rupe, each and every one of the jumpers seemed to 'let go' of themselves before jumping.
In my mind, they let go of their lives. Thank goodness it all worked out.

Using chains for treework is archaic and dangerous. Web or tube slings are safer and easier to manage. Heck, at the worst use a cable/clevis combo.

Why is that? I dont use chains all the time but I do on larger pieces. The wear better and have excellent capacities. In my willow video you could see me using it. Cables (wire rope) get bends and wire pics that are hard to use.

I don't see a problem with chains, just never used them. Crane Op's around here always provide slings or cable. (I hate Cable PIA)
I thought the crane was very cool -- no outriggers to hassle with -- articulating?? never seen anything like that in my part of the states
Good videoing, I gotta get a helmet cam, very cool

Yeah that Graeme has some cool video , tall trees .
That crane in EKKA's video looks like it doesn't have out riggers , did I see it right ? What kind of crane was that? it looked like it was moving with the boom out . Chains , nylon, ropes whatever , just get the tree down please. Was that two men in the bucket?
That bridge swing has my teenage son begging me to do it , "hey honey I'm taking the kids to the park , we'll be back "

It's called a Franna, here's a link to some where you can get specs. http://www.universalcranes.com/crane-hire.htm

They are predominantly used on building sites as they can lift and carry. The biggest one I have seen operating on a building site was 50T.
