Vehicle gear transport pic thread

Yes, same here. And I have searched dump inserts alot 15 or more years ago and kept an eye on them for years again now because I should have bought stainless or aluminum. (My steel unit has corrosion issues all over including through 1/8 inch steel areas.)

This unit is aluminum.

@27RMTON I thought of you when I saw this picture. Couldn't find the other thread where you showed your build a bit more and said something like you had wanted your chip body in aluminum but didn't have time etc. (Eloquip site.)

That is based on an insert dump unit by the way.
Needs a locking rear panel and gate.

The chip truck is always looking for extra gear storage, I have 2 belly boxes on the truck and 2 wheel fender boxes on the chipper. Still squishy in the cab though.
The pickup has lots of room with the box side boxes plus the actual pickup box.
My big improvement for this year will be putting the mini in the chip box

Awesome! D-rings for tie downs on the mini?
I was just looking around in town for some today, so not yet. I'll be sure to get some before taking it on the road though, I just made the ramp brackets this weekend.
I saw a picture of your setup a couple years ago, saw the potential, basically copied it!

@Jonny While I am new to the tree working world, two different contacts I have made have worked with a guy who runs a company called Tree Machine. He has been around for a while and is described as eclectic. That may be your guy. His business cards are birds eye maple veneer, that he makes, and then burns his logo on. Sounds like a cool guy.

Area sounds about right, I’m sure that’s Jim. Really helpful, smart, and friendly guy on the forums back in the day. I hope he’s doing well, I recall a doozy of a leg injury.

Posted here under "Tree_Machine". Jim added a lot of info and value to TreeBuzz. He posted a lot about his ideas of and development of the "shot line winder". Great information can be had by looking up that thread/those threads.

Also.....for anyone who wanted to see it or understand, I believe there is a great example to be had there about how we can inspire inventors and innovators to work on our behalf or drive them away.

We bought 4 or 5 shotline winders thru treestuff. I believe one of my guys still has his on his side work set up. I recall his injury and think of it regularly while grinding stumps and cleaning. I really enjoy seeing this thread continue - there are definitely many ways to get the job done well.
and by the by - Happy Easter to everyone here too!

I bought one or two went through a learning curve finding all the things to not do with it and bought six more to make sure I was never without it from then on.

I still have to measure my Ram behind the seat to see if that shelf/storage will fit. I'll go do that now.

Also just finished having plate welded on the sides of my grapple and cutting teeth into it. (Almost to no more slipping logs and rounds.)
