Using an apostrophe in my message ???

Today I had something weird happen when I posted on TB that I;ve experienced on a couple of other forums. If I use an apostrophe it kicks on the spell checker. Then I have to go and backspace in the form that comes up at the bottom of the page in order to keep typing.

This gets really annoying, does anyone have this happen? Is their a solution?

Is that Safari's built-in spell checker or something else. My Konqueror (the basis for Safari) doesn't turn my apostrope'd (except for that one!) words red as I type them in the input form box.

Tom,

Near as I can discover, Safari uses the system spell-checking facility. You only have the option within the browser of enabling it or not (with the sub-option of having it work real-time while you type). If you're having trouble with the way the spell-check is actually doing its thing you'll probably have to discover the method for configuring the system-wide mechanism; no doubt apart from the browser interface.

Thank goodness there's a realtime spell checker running in Safari. I know its annoying but I can ignore things like that rather than searching for where it is.

I've used a tool, [named Fire] that invoked the spell checker as well as word completion. I'll be darned if I can figure out which fat-finger combo it takes to invoke it.
