Use the GI Bill for TCIA or ISA?

Myself, our climbers and groundsman are all veterans. All of us still have the option to use the GI bill for school but none of us are interested in that. Does anyone know if you can use the GI bill for courses with TCIA or ISA?

Anyone a veteran that used the GI Bill for plant health care courses? Was it online or in school? Been looking for the option to do something online together that is for our industry, outside of just biology or agriculture courses.

Thanks!

I know they will spring for professional certifications--I'm sure the ISA exams are included.

What you've got to weigh: is it worth the trade-off? All that red tape and paperwork to save $75 here, another $100 there?

Not sure of the costs of other courses you're considering. I think ArborMaster Training would be worth the hassle.

Thanks for starting the thread. I'm interested in the thoughts generated. Haven't checked to see if this has come up in historical.

Yea, I am not sure what the paperwork would look like, but it's worth looking into at least. There is a bill pending since 2009 that was trying to allow veterans to use the GI Bill for small businesses. A new one is currently in the works that proposes the option of using the GI Bill as collateral for a 0% interests small business loan. A full GI Bill is valued at $185,000, feels silly to let us all have that go to waste and not take advantage of it.

If it's an option and the paperwork isn't to bad, $75 x 8 guys adds. Thats stump grinder teeth, chipper teeth, fuel, new chainsaw.

Hoping someone chimes in that scouted out this option or used it for online courses with PHC or something!
