Update on trimming neighbor's improperly pruned tree

It took three climbs, but I've made some progress on my neighbor's tree. Here's the before and after pictures.

I was able to advance the TIP (pink marks) about ten feet for the next climb to finish up the project. The pruned limbs with no foliage were mostly rotted except for the fat lighter sections near the trunk. Several of the limbs with live foliage were also rotted so much that I went ahead and removed them.

It's never going to be a beautiful tree, but I think it looks a little better. It's definitely safer with all the rotted wood gone.

I finished up this morning. You can't tell much difference from the pictures, but there was a lot of stuff on the ground.

I left a bookmark so I can climb to take a picture of the school complex on the other side of Clark Road when the schools reopen.

First of all, welcome to the Buzz Mr. Hendry, I hope you will find this forum enlightening and informative.. I would like to call into question your comment regarding Mr. Winchman's pruning of his neighbors tree. You make a statement that it is not done in a proper manner without having any background information, but do not explain why you think that. Mr. Winchman explained that he only removed dead stubs left by power company pruning crews (information in one of his previous posts) and live branches with visible rot. This was (again information from his previous post) the goal of the pruning. I'm not sure how the power companies in Denver do their clearance pruning, but in Georgia, they cut to the edge of their utility easement without much regard for proper cuts in most cases. I believe Mr. Winchman has done an exemplary job and has achieved the pruning goals requested. On top of that, if you check Mr. Winchman's bio you will find he is almost twice your age and climbing trees.

AND, that being done gratis.

None the less if there is some aspect of the stated work goals that can be improved in the future I would value hearing it. I come down out of every tree I do and no matter how many people rave about them can see some aspect I would have liked to have done better or wish the customers budget would afford more time.

Winchman I can imagine how much brush was on the ground. I can go up after one limb endangering wires and find this and that and the other things that I might as well do since I'm right there. It adds up.

Funny StephenHendry the words tree service in your post are linked to Ron's tree service in Florida. Not associated with you right?

Welcome to TreeBuzz by the way.

And he puts a link to a company...

I don't know about this case, but often times these kind of 'brand new accounts with 'vaguely relevant comment, questionable English and a link to a random business' posts are automated spam to try and up a website on search result pages.... you see it on blog and youtube comments all the time... just sayin'.
